  1. Why is this written as if people “outside the bears” lends credibility?
  2. Signing is done. I'd imagine he'd get at least a couple starts in a few weeks with Darnold out for a while.
  3. Did Stan Bowman already get a new job?
  4. Idk, I think Nagy would need to show success in the playoffs this year to stick around, at the very least make the playoffs Nah. They just need to show real improvement on offense.
  5. The only goal has to be getting rid of Seth Jones. He’s absolute trash and will kill this team for 5+ years If by 5+ you mean NINE, then yes. By year 6 there will be enough #1 draft picks to compensate
  6. The goal should be to get them to play well enough that the next GM can sell off every old, expensive vet and get something of value back. Time to clean house. The only goal has to be getting rid of Seth Jones. He’s absolute trash and will kill this team for 5+ years
  7. So this is all to save $1m on the Reds behalf?
  8. I don't disagree, but I don't know what to do with the info. I was out trick or treating with the kids and watched the game on partial delay. Didn't really care about the loss, was pretty happy with Fields. This game kind of epitomized my theory about the Bears hopes for this year. They were happy to sacrifice defense, and in some cases wins, for offensive improvement. They have overspent on defense for so long that they had to cut back from that side to address some offensive needs and would be okay losing high scoring games where Fields looks good. The overall team is obviously a mess, but we knew that.
  9. Mac Jones was always the NFL ready but not much upside guy. Don’t think it means much that he’s had a better start. I still much prefer Fields.
  10. Historically, sexual assault/harassments coverups have worked. Sandusky was arrested in 2011, after this assault happened. Before that, you had the Catholic church scandal sort of out in the open but other than that, Larry Nassar was molesting kids, along with other trainers and doctors and coaches all over the country, not to mention Weinstein, Epstein and all of that. Blowback to the coverup only really became a thing after Paterno's downfall, and even he had widespread support. The easiest thing to do in retrospect would be to fire the guy quietly, sure, but that requires paperwork and effort and decisions unrelated to hockey. So the actual easiest thing to do is nothing. You have to be proactive to root out sexual abusers and that is hard.
  11. There's people making out Lachavious Simmons not getting any practice at RT into a thing. Like who cares? He was the 5th option to play RT this season. That's akin to complaining that Nick Foles is getting no practice reps. He's not supposed to be playing, don't waste your time when the guy in front of him needs all the reps he can get (talking about Fields and Wilkinson). Wilkinson went out with Covid like an hour before the game. It's not a miscarriage of justice that Simmons wasn't prepared to start. He had no reason to be prepared to start. You can argue that Simmons over Bars was a bad decision, but Bars likely had no RT practice snaps either. Simmons at least played entire preseason games at RT this year. He didn't suck because of lack of practice, he sucked because lack of ability. yeah, I didn't have the energy to make that point yesterday. But you're absolutely right.
  12. How is this Nagy location thing a story? Jesus, there's so much going on out there and people are trying to make this a thing?
  13. Well they haven't made the move yet, Nagy says they are still working through options. Maybe that is because they are waiting on word from Quinn.
  14. I think it is very clear they care about winning. They just don't know how to do it. They fired a winning coach because he wasn't winning enough. They tried something different and cut bait rather quickly when it became obvious they couldn't win. Nagy won with this team early on and built up trust, but this offensive falling on his face is probably eroding that trust.
  15. Mack is out this week
  16. I think he made the decision on his own while Pace likely raised the issue with him from time to time.
  17. extremely high in my mind
  18. https://twitter.com/wyshynski/status/1453086603006578688?s=21
  19. the passive aggressive shot at mcdonough was the only good thing in it
  20. I think the part where he notes Bowman cooperated with the investigation while others did not was fairly interesting. I don't have a problem pointing out that you think he would have done the right thing in other circumstances. I mean at least they're having him take some ownership for the mistakes. I guess in an alternate universe something like that is used as an excuse for not having consequences, which is why it comes off poorly. Well his own personal statement sucked.
