  1. I think this is fun, but the NFL places so much ceremonial importance on the coin toss, they would probably refuse to do away with it. Good idea though if they could get past it.
  2. If this was a Bills board maybe you'd have a point. The rule objectively sucks and should be changed. "Win instead of deal with overtime" is some infintile playground argument non-sense. It's like one of those, but completely not.
  3. I think its just the way McCaskey runs the entire team, its a family business so he personally picks Poles up. It can be seen as rubish, but honestly I really dont mind Geo doing it. Welcome to Chicago, Ryan I have a hard time imagining he's picked up each one of these guys, considering some were same day. I assumed a lot of these were zoom interviews, at least for the first round, and that in person things were for the 2nd round.
  4. This is like all the people whining about the fairness of wild card play in games in MLB. Shut the horsefeathers up and win the game you whiners.
  5. Quinn's a hard pass for me, thus far, I've got Harbaugh, Quinn and Frazier as hard passes, my top three, in no particular order - Daboll, Flores, Leftwich - just please no re-treads with defensive backgrounds. My two generic archetypes of preferred coaching candidates are offensive wunderkind (Sean Payton/McVay) and highly respected retread who bombed in his first gig (Pete Carrol, Bill Belichik). Although they didn't bomb, Andy Reid and Tony Dungy also fit this type. Quinn obviously fits the latter, but I'm not enthusiastic. There's really nothing wrong with re-treads defensive coaches, if they can get a good staff together. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt to start. Same with Flores. Harbaugh is more like a Reid and Dungy, who had success but not enough success. I'd be fine with him. Daboll and Leftwich are more exciting shoot the moon candidates and I'd be happy with either.
  6. better yet, keep it simple as is and if you don't want to "lose by coin flip" then finish the 4th quarter with the lead. there's no rule that says you have to give up a touchdown on the opening drive
  7. 100% parked in the economy lot. No question Parking in economy lot would be foolish overspending. It's economy for full day parking, if you're just picking somebody up you go hourly and pay a fraction of the economy rate. What's more likely is he stayed in the cell phone waiting area until he knew Poles was off the plane with bags in hand then he went to the main garage to guarantee he'd be in there less than one hour.
  8. I haven't lived in an area that reports on chicago-based stuff in nearly 3 decades, but the internet exists so it's readily available. I apologize jersey, I had no idea they were approaching it this way and didn't realize it would bother you so much that I didn't do the proper independent research. I mean, part of the reason I post here is to get the links you all post from reports back in Chicago to help educate me on these things - but maybe that's a horrible reason I'm not bothered by your lack of independent research. Nobody should be doing their own research.

  10. is that the entire hiring committee? I ddin't realize they had more then just Geo and Ted, outside of the consultant group how are you this angry about how they are doing this without knowing how they are doing this? It's been widely reported and discussed that the committee includes those specific people.
  11. I hate this. How they don't have a GM in place by now is criminal Eh? It's not the worst thing in the world, yet. If they don't have one until the super bowl, that's a problem. But there's nothing wrong with waiting until this week.
  12. Leslie Frazier isn't a finalist. Don't pay attention to finalist lists for HC since they will hire the GM first. #helpful
  13. I'm confused about how Frazier would or would not be a finalist at this point, without a GM. Are they culling the list and then giving the GM the choice among 5 guys, or are they telling the GM, hire who you want but not this guy? Or have they polled the potential GMs and know that none of them have an interest in hiring Frazier?
  14. also your qb is a delusional qanon supporting douchebag that never backs up his [expletive] words Eh, whatever. I try not to get to wrapped up in professional athletes personal lives, or really their lives off the field. I like him during games/season. He probably is a douche. But I’ll never interact personally with him. And there’s a lot of worse athletes/people in professional sports/entertainment industry. its not his personal life, he’s actively making life worse for normal people. He’s an awful human being supported by trash pandas

  16. There are two people named Wink Martindale? What a world
  17. Presumably Frazier isn't a guy the Bears hire before a GM, so which GM is going to be more inclined to hire him than Schoen?
  18. Are they reporting he is the favorite or just regurgitating that he is literally the betting favorite, which we saw yesterday
