  1. If you haven't seen the link, it says Minnesota, Texas, NYM and Nationals could/should be a few games better (about 4-6 each), while the Cubs stay the same.
  2. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/insider/news/story?id=6712238 If only this team was healthy...
  3. The supposed irony is that the Giants were in the same dugout in the movie.
  4. I'm pretty sure that is fairly standard for most high schoolers.
  5. Wrong. Shake off first sign, pitch from stretch, check runner at 1st.
  6. Nah, I've seen Fonzie's car up close -- it's definitely more of a turquoise-teal thing than anything Cubbie blue. That photo just makes it look darker than it is. Well I took that picture so ive seen it up close myself and I remember it being the same color as it appears in the pic. That was five or so years ago though so maybe he has gotten it painted since then? You took that picture 5 years ago?
  7. Dude is having a pretty crappy season down there. I'm guessing him being brought up has something to do with the fact that he has already been called up earlier this year. Warm body, meet Chicago Cubs pitching staff; Chicago Cubs pitching staff, meet warm body.
  8. I was expecting something like that. Guess it makes it less likely that everybody sits.
  9. It's along the same lines as my not wanting to see ARam sprint full speed out of the box every time he puts the ball in play. Giving 110% isn't always what you want. "Old school" types can't abide by that sort of thinking, but it's more pragmatic. At the same time, if you suck, you better try really hard because you getting injured isn't going to hurt the team.
  10. Dare I say, Rowand got a little lazy on that one.
  11. LAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
  12. And the other person noted how completely unlikely that is to happen. I too would take the best that Pena could possibly do spread over 3 years.
  13. If there's one thing that has held back this Cubs team for decades, it's a lack of tryers.
  14. I would venture a guess that most OF who regularly bump into walls to make catches play virtually all of their games with non-brick walls.
  15. His IsoD is like .250 this past week. It had been around .025 in April/May but it's well over .100 in June and back to around normal for the season.
  16. I'd gladly take that line over the next 3 years. I doubt Pujols/Fielder will be worth 12-15 million more than that. Pena has had an OBP that high twice in his career, and a SLG that high once. I said i'd gladly take that line for the next 3 years. I was speaking hypothetically. So then what's the point of noting that Pujols/Fielder won't be that much better? The reason those guys would get more money is they are better bets to be significantly better. You pay a premium for dependable quality.
  17. soriano managed to get within 20 feet of the wall
  18. Pena's homerun is much less impressive now that Koyie had one. Did that old man yell at the kid?
  19. The HR right there is unnecessary if they just had more fast guys ahead of Pena in the order.
  20. Just let Davis go the whole game regardless, and send him back for relief in game 2.
