  1. If everything went well. You can't just ignore the fact that it's the first opportunity for financial security for any of these guys. It's risky as hell to just play out the deal on a year-to-year basis. Signing a "team friendly" deal very early in your major league career, several years before you will get an opportunity to make anything resembling a lifetime's security is the prudent choice.
  2. Learn it, know it, live it. http://i25.tinypic.com/99l7gn.jpg
  3. Maholm vs Narveson Do with it what you will.
  4. Not sure how that works. They are already in the organization, so whether they are on the big league club or not, the losses count just the same. If it was something like Indy losing all year to get in position to draft Luck, I could understand, but this losing isn't going to pay off in any meaningful way. There is no Harper out there and they probably aren't even going to get a chance to draft first anyway.
  5. You don't think somebody should be able to be suspended over his words? I didn't say that. I said I'm usually not a fan of when it happens, but do understand why they occur. "Hate seeing" it seems to indicate you don't think it should happen, but, whatever.
  6. I don't understand how a suspension is weird. Firing him over that would have been incredibly stupid. You say something controversial that offends a large portion of your fan base, apologize, get suspended and then back to normal before the next issue distracts everybody.
  7. You don't think somebody should be able to be suspended over his words?
  8. I don't understand the differentiation between arm and elbow. Are you thinking maybe he breaks his ulna?
  9. Did you already have your tickets pre-arranged before you left? I've always heard about how difficult it is to get tickets or outrageously expensive it is to buy from scalpers. Then Dan Dakich tweeted that he bought them Saturday morning right outside the front for $100 and downplayed the cost or difficulty usually associated with them. Somebody else had them and invited me to fill-in for another person who bailed. I saw 1 guy with a sign saying he was selling them a few blocks away, but other than that, absolutely no sign of scalping. Everybody is paranoid about losing their tickets by breaking the rules.
  10. Nice. Did you follow someone or stay in one spot? a little from column A and a little from column B, plus some random wandering
  11. Hester can play WR in the NFL, he can't be relied on as the #1. Taking him off of kickoff return duty is not a big deal, considering his specialty is punt returns and kick returns have been hampered by rule changes.
  12. Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  13. it was awesome to attend
  14. Hahahahahah that sounds impossible Hahahahaha not really If you go back to the first year of the National League (1876), that's 136 years ago. Jamie Moyer has pitched in the majors for 25 years. 25/136 = 18.4% Hahahaha, he said sounds.
  15. Why did you believe your 4 innings were enough of a sample for criticism but not enough for a positive vote? For the record, I didn't vote since I didn't believe I had enough sample to make a good decision. Given the fact that the poll was created before there was a sample size I think that is besides the point. The point seems to be to gather a snapshot of how people feel on the matter at any given point.
  16. I was going to say 82 wins but since that is not an option I will say 66
  17. Here's hoping the roster gets better in a hurry.
  18. Because it's very inaccurate? It crossed at the knees.
  19. Yes, I know you've done that, so you can then go out and whine about unfair treatment of the Saints and then fall back to your "but look I said they were wrong before" nonsense.
  20. Soto lined up about a foot outside when one that went right into his mitt looked good but was clearly a ball. That catcher was lined up with his mitt on the line.
  21. WHERE'S CAMPANA??????????????????????????????????????
  22. The fact that this team sucks means this team sucks. One game doesn't change that at all. I know, thus the overreaction by some is unwarranted. so people aren't allowed to complain when things don't go well?
  23. That was as gentle of a swing as I've ever seen.
