  1. Doesn't show up on historical BA top ten, but they did list him as the 2013 starting 2B back in 2010.
  2. Podlesh is a hell of an athlete. He's a kicker, they all golf well. Like pitchers, they have the time.
  3. Jed's job is to negotiate the deals, but Theo is the big swinging johnson in the room, the celebrity who can have a conversation with a $15m pitcher and be on even ground. My guess is they had a meeting to decide who would be best to talk to Dempster and it was determined Theo was the man for that duty.
  4. What exactly is wrong with asking a question? Bill Simmons brings it up every time he talks to Stern. "Hey commissioner, were you involved in the cover-up on the Bison Dele murder?" "Just asking a question here" It's not a random question out of nowhere, it's a question on a topic that people discuss all the time. And a topic that Stern has heard discussed all the time.

  6. Wow that's a whole lot of dumb. People say that stuff about the NBA and not the NFL because there has been a whole bunch of things to make people think the NBA does that stuff and nothing to indicate the NFL does.
  7. huh huh, huh huh, Barbara's snapper, huh huh, huh huh
  8. Yeah, but they are only good when you have 1 or 2 in the everyday lineup, combatted by 1-3 really good players to pick up some of the slack. I know this season is lost, and knew i was before it started, but God this sucks a lot. Yep, it does suck, but once you go in with it you gotta go all in.
  9. Not only is Vitters one who could benefit from more time developing, but more time developing specifically with the regime in charge. I'd like to see him after a good year plus of this sort of input, input that he obviously never had under the previous regime.
  10. Except he has the hair that every douchey lacrosse player that went to college in the early 2000's had. It's douche by association. Have you visited a Southern college town recently? 93% of males under 30 living south of the Mason-Dixon line have that hairstyle. Yes, the south tends to catch on to trends slowly, like Canada.
  11. The decision to not bring Vitters up has nothing at all to do with coddling him.
  12. I absolutely would not call up Vitters. I don't think he's a great enough prospect to worry about ruining him, but they could still try to maximize his value to the organization by matching up his prime years with his cheap years.

  14. Why is Paul Sullivan obsessed with this sort of thing? He's got this hangup about non-baseball personnel ever stepping foot on the grass of Wrigley Field. What is embarrassing about an employee of a baseball team holding a bat on a baseball field?
  15. http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2012/06/lolnfl-reappropriating-a-meme.html Speak of the condescending little devil http://cdn.ksk.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/lol-quite-a-goal.jpg
  16. Yes, but it's June now. Did you read any of TT's post or just stop there. I read the whole thing. It was written after I wrote that Stewart's bad luck is a bit overblown. I wrote that today, in mid-June, in response to somebody else claiming he's been ridiculously unlucky this season.
  17. I think you're way underrating Romo. At most, it's slightly underrating him.
  18. Yes, but it's June now.
  19. was that sloth in attendance?
  20. blitzkrieg
  21. I'll admit up front that I'm bordering on being a Vitters apologist. I also understand that Stewart is so unlucky that he is more likely to get hit by a meteor with a winning powerball ticket stuck to the front of it than get a line drive to not be hit right to a fielder. That being said, it's not such a bad idea to bring Vitters up before then (like if he got his AAA ops north of .800) since a sept. call up is a fairly small sample size that's watered down by the presence of other sept. call ups pitching for non contending teams. I want Vitters to spend all of 2012 in Iowa. I don't believe he's ever had a single complete, healthy year at a single level before. I want him to do that in Iowa this year and make some adjustments before being rewarded with a promotion. Yeah, there's no reason to call him up this year. He's probably the guy most capable of benefiting from more time within this system. And Ian Stewart's unluckiness is a bit overblown.
  22. There's a bomb on a bus? I actually just looked at a couple of these earlier, knew some others, and made some guesses so all I missed was #8.
