  1. I’ve read and listened to a bunch of bears draft stuff with this site being down and have softened. I’d say I’m whelmed. I like the first round tackle and the offensive guys in general. The defensive guys from the 2nd day are where I’m less than enthused. Yes, they are probably each an upgrade to what was there. But the tackles in particular are not particularly appealing. In general I don’t really like the idea of drafting for physical traits over football playing ability. I get that the role a player is asked to play in college can hold back their personal production, but I don’t love the idea of assuming a change in role will allow for a breakout. the DJ Moore move is still my favorite acquisition, but stabilizing the right side of the line is a close 2nd. Upgrading the RB and TB rooms overall is also great. I think this team is capable of scoring a lot of points and occasionally preventing the other team from scoring 28.
  2. did a 7th grader come up with that ranking system from that Jeremiah tweet?
  3. The cubs are 7-8 since this thread started and fallen into 3rd place, currently out of a wild card spot. All I’m saying is https://memes.getyarn.io/yarn-clip/0f39d144-f749-4a4e-b346-862532e44712
  4. Does anybody really have faith that Ross would set aside the crafty vet for the unproven sort of kid? Seems like a situation where you might have to take away the security blanket from the manager to force him not to use it.
  5. Man, that Devils game 7 was an impressive effort. Pretty cool to see the young and fun team breakthrough with the Rangers failing miserably. Glad the forced trade blew up in Kane’s face, even if it theoretically cost the Blackhawks a better pick.
  6. Did you think at all about using nortsidebaseball?
  7. Bears sign the son of the greatest lh arm wrestler in history as UDFA QB.
  8. I never realized how much the rangers have tried to emulate the Blackhawks anthem situation. Never noticed that at any game but I haven’t been to msg since pre covid.
  9. Regarding RAS, can anybody give a good reason why they list how a player in 2023 ranks against guys measured in 1987? I cannot think of anything valuable to be gleaned by that data.
  10. 7 wins is 10 losses. If that’s not hugely disappointing I don’t know what is.
  11. Are they not spending that on extensions?
  12. Roquan is better than anybody they brought in, and Khalil Mack is in the mix of that group. They are relying on a secondary to carry the defense and none of them are first round talent types.
  13. They are slowly and methodically building a team that could be stacked in 2025. But they still aren’t any good now.
  14. I didn’t say anything about effort. I cited the lack of urgency to improve. They’ve replaced the guys they traded away with variations of them, overloaded on LB. The one spot they’ve really improved is WR. And that should help a lot. The offense might take a big leap if Fields can carry them. But the defense is atrocious.
  15. He ran his first offseason like he knew it didn’t matter if they won a game in 2022. He’s run this one not much differently. I think he’s very comfortable knowing that he’ll get a shot to make it work with Fields, and if that doesn’t happen, he’ll get a chance to draft his own QB. There’s no urgency to improve. They are happy taking baby steps and either let Fields carry them to contention or create a better team that will be prepared to win when they eventually find their guy. they’re probably most happy with the fact they have two firsts next year, plus other extra picks. 2024 will have a lot of flexibility and they still won’t really need to commit to Fields by then. if they suck again this year then Poles might start drafting for his own job.
  16. Another corner. I guess they either have real high hopes for their projects from last year, plan on trading for or signing somebody else’s castoff, or just don’t give a crap about getting to the qb.
  17. 1-3 now, with an ILB taken. They have to take G/C or pass rusher next, no? Unless they know they are going to spend some cap space on these positions this summer.
  18. The description here makes more sense than the claim that he’s RB1. He’s a role player that lacks high end speed. He’ll be fine, but he’s not THE GUY.
  19. 0-2 so far. not upset with RBs and WRs here in the 4th.
  20. Really trying to figure out what the original thought was here. Considering it’s not even close to accurate.
  21. Lions trade swift to eagles
