  1. I would be very surprised if that came into his thought process at all.
  2. Oh the humanity. Aren't you an IU guy? Do you pity every single Hoosiers player who never played in a bowl game? Bowl game appearances are not a birthright. Yes, I am an IU guy. No I don't pity Hoosiers players who have never played in a bowl game because they know the odds are against them going to a bowl when they're only scholarship offers are IU, Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan. Bowl games are not a birthright, but it makes no sense that a group of kids good enough to get to play in a bowl game in Florida, Texas or California are forced to only play games in places like Madison, WI and Bloomington, IN because of something people did starting when the players were 4-6 years old. Again, I know that's how these things work...but that doesn't make it right. That is absurdly stupid. Bowl games are rewards for successful seasons. You are not guaranteed bowl games. Penn State missed a bowl game in four of five seasons last decade all by themselves. The kids can leave if they want. Nothing is being taken from them. The football program had to be punished and there is no way to punish the football program without something like no bowl game appearances.
  3. Blindsided? He's been on the block for over a month. This was his 2nd choice. Just 3-4 days ago a trade with The Dodgers was supposedly near completion. How much less blindsided could he have possibly been? Just because you act like this is a video game doesn't mean it actually is. It's still damn near impossible to pretend the situation would blindside him.

  5. If you get 10 Stewarts I bet at least 3 of them would be pretty decent.
  6. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=soler-000jor because you failed google
  7. they need to start using Greinke on back to back days again
  8. Why are you thinking there won't be another Paul Maholm on the market this winter? Sure there might, but while players who are as consistent(in terms of performance and durability) as Maholm aren't incredibly valuable, they aren't incredibly common either. I'd just as soon pass on the new #27 prospect in the system we'd get for him and have him as insurance. It's going to be difficult to get to 6 capable starters as is. Sure, if it's just a 27, pass.
  9. Why are you thinking there won't be another Paul Maholm on the market this winter? Maholms come and go. If you can sign one on the cheap and then trade for something with more longterm value, you do it. Then go out and try and sign one in the offseason when once again you have a buttload of money to spend.
  10. Was that last night? I could have sworn I saw a few innings of that with a different announcing crew than either CWS or BOS broadcast on MLBN. Do they send their own crew to do those games?

  12. I can't imagine that rushing to get a deal done for the sake of getting a deal done before talking about a Garza trade is a smart strategy.
  13. excuse me while i go the home page
  14. so this started. I always forget.

  18. You'd have to be a really clumsy numbnuts to not be ready to man 1B in short season ball.
  19. 4 years at an average of about $8m. Doesn't sound too cap friendly since the franchise number was below $8m.
