Oh the humanity. Aren't you an IU guy? Do you pity every single Hoosiers player who never played in a bowl game? Bowl game appearances are not a birthright. Yes, I am an IU guy. No I don't pity Hoosiers players who have never played in a bowl game because they know the odds are against them going to a bowl when they're only scholarship offers are IU, Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan. Bowl games are not a birthright, but it makes no sense that a group of kids good enough to get to play in a bowl game in Florida, Texas or California are forced to only play games in places like Madison, WI and Bloomington, IN because of something people did starting when the players were 4-6 years old. Again, I know that's how these things work...but that doesn't make it right. That is absurdly stupid. Bowl games are rewards for successful seasons. You are not guaranteed bowl games. Penn State missed a bowl game in four of five seasons last decade all by themselves. The kids can leave if they want. Nothing is being taken from them. The football program had to be punished and there is no way to punish the football program without something like no bowl game appearances.
