  1. dempster made sure the camera was on him before he expressed his anger
  2. no don't bring it up. Don't draw attention to the fat idiotic 45 year old women in the stands just ignore it
  3. Of course dempster can't hold down a Pirates team that has struggled to score a run this series.
  4. Yeah, he can be traded. But you'd be an idiot to offer up top notch prospects for him while he's injured in the middle of a down year. If the Cubs can't get top prospects for him they shouldn't trade him. It's not about whether or not they can move him, it's whether or not they can get top value in return. Short of top value there is no reason to move him.
  5. Hey what do you know, Lahair's slow loopy swing actually drove the ball, for another out
  6. well I don't remember exactly, some sort of premenstrual thing in his arm A tricep cramp is probably nothing, and even Garza said it was weird but he'd be okay, and all the x-rays came back negative. You're acting like if he doesn't make ONE good start then no one will want to trade for one and a half years of his services. I think that's a little over the top. Teams can still trade for him based on his credentials and his performance history, and if there's an issue with his health, that's what physicals are for. I just don't see how there is a 0% chance we could trade Garza UNLESS he makes his next start and is healthy. If he were a half season rental I could see the concern, but teams would get him for one more year and are able to obtain a draft pick as compensation if they let him leave. I don't see how that doesn't still have value to teams. I'd hate for my GM to be such a risk taker that he trade top notch prospects for Matt Garza right now.

  8. that was the first time all day I noticed campana was playing. Thought for a second he was pinch hitting for Dempster and my heart skipped a beat.
  9. 0% if Garza doesn't come back strong very soon. I'm wondering with the amount of teams looking for higher end pitching, if MAYBE someone gets desperate enough to trade for him even if he doesn't pitch Monday. The only top end starters that appear to be out there are Greinke, Johnson, and Shields. Other starters supposedly available are Liriano and Vargas. I guess there's a chance Ian Kennedy or Cliff Lee become available, but that's about it. Plus, our 3 guys. Meanwhile, teams looking for high end pitching are the Blue Jays, Orioles, Red Sox, White Sox, Indians, Angels, Rangers, Braves, Nats, Cards, and Dodgers. I guess I could see a team getting antsy and throwing out a good offer on Garza. Sure you could make such a desperate move, if you are only giving up fringe guys. But top prospects for a guy having an off year who is suffering from forearm cramps? I can't see it.
  10. Len is talking about ARod's HBP that broke his hand. This morning Rosanna Scotto on Fox 5 news was just ripping him mercilessly for being a baby after getting hit. It was really ridiculous. Like Kaplan talking about an ethnic type bad.
  11. I wouldn't trust him to drive Dempster to the airport. Dempster would just give him the wrong directions on purpose. Hahahahaha. Or he'd refuse to fly and insist on taking the train instead.
  12. Yesterday on CTL he said Dempster has every right to veto a trade and he couldn't understand why anybody was remotely upset about it. Amazing, he's right. But, Aramis did as well. Hard for Dave to understand that though, what with Aramis being too brown. He's not right. If you can't understand why somebody would be upset you're an idiot. It's a disingenuous response. We all have "the right" to do a lot of things that people would rightfully be annoyed as hell if we did them. Dempster has the right to lie to the fans and the front office about his intentions.
  13. I wouldn't trust him to drive Dempster to the airport.
  14. Pretty sure it is. Don't really see why those fans should be kicked out. Most of us seem to think it was a HR so why should they get in trouble for thinking the same thing? Doesn't matter what they thought. Fan interference is fan interference.
  15. Pffft. That's just reasonable fan concern. Nothing wrong with that! you were complaining about the thread. Don't be a hypocrite now. If there were actual death threats, the odds that they came from a couple of the lunatics on here are rather high. about as high as the odds that southsideryan will always pretend he's too cool to ever get upset about something bad happening to the Cubs.
  16. We all know Kyle is just happy that he wasn't forced to half heartedly cheer for a HR whilst not in the moment.
  17. rizzo solves Dempster's horrible decision on DeJesus's would be HR by driving him in with a sharp single.
  18. I think they called it a 2B initially. Len hesitated because it looked like it was interference live. But it's probably Dempster's fault.
  19. they did, and they called it a double. I'm not sure how anybody could think that would not have been a HR.
  20. len hesitated on the HR call and for a good reason, it looked like fan interference at first. on review it has to be called a HR. dejesus with 2 hard hit balls so far today
