  1. Romo's mettle. Love gruden criticizing cutler and licking romo's balls. Others on here too

  3. So the line I've seen went from 3.5 to 3. Interestingly the Bears are -4 against Jacksonville next week. The Jags have been outscored by 35 points this year. I'd have to imagine that if Chicago manages to pull off the upset this week then next week's line will be bigger than 4.
  4. There's an early Simpsons where Bart's teacher is handing back tests and Bart upon seeing his F starts crying. The teacher says that she thought that Bart should be used to failing by now. Bart responded by saying, "But this time I actually tried!" That must be what Pirates fans feel like. Of course, being a Cubs fan, I know exactly what that feels like. I thought you were going to blow our mind with some sort of that's the last time Pittsburgh was over .500 coincidence. It aired Oct 11, 1990, and the Pirates were eliminated from the playoffs the next day.
  5. Nonsense. Being on a 100 loss team is going to be more of a reason not to sign a team friendly deal than being happy shooting the [expletive] with your teammates would be a reason to sign a team friendly deal. Besides that though we should hope he doesn't sign a deal with the Cubs.
  6. I don't see what is nice about that.
  7. This one isn't as entertaining as usual. Give it time.
  8. Oooh, cool. Are we going to get another one of these started up?
  9. Easy schedule and an impact player in the draft. It's good to crap the bed every once in a while.
  10. GD I hate primetime football. I cannot stress that enough. I am not looking forward to staying up past midnight to watch this one. I have no faith this week, maybe that's a good sign because usually I can picture a Bears victory. One way or another tomorrow is going to suck. Either I'll be too excited about a win to get much sleep or too annoyed about another loss. I hope no clients need anything tomorrow.
  11. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/8435294/2012-lockout-nhl-players-resume-talks-2-week-break Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc Panthers' Brian Campbell on CBA negotiations: "Nothing ever gets done until the bitter end. Now it’s getting down to the bitter end." Sounds like some progress might get made relatively soon. Possibly.
  12. Jesus this is stupid. Really stupid nonsense.
  13. well done Cutler. Pompei likes to market himself as some sort of expert about the game, but that is a very pointless question. He's basically just trying to get Cutler to say something meaningless so he can spend the next week on CTL critiquing the answer. The details do matter. Extra coverage tells you nothing.
  14. Why does it have to be "with abandon"? That's just an unnecessary qualifier to justify the dumbass theory that the Cubs shouldn't acquire more players until some theoretical time in the future when they will be "ready to win".
  15. on occasion. Although we may no longer be seeing situations where guys like Cabrera come available when they are actually studs (as opposed to previously listed used to be studs). But you don't build your team with the expectations that you can get some other team's stud later.
  16. I find it hard to believe you can write that sentence while at the same timing insisting they stay away from any acquisitions this offseason. If it's not that far away, why not start the process now? Why keep waiting. They've already tanked a season. Tanking another isn't going to make the good times show up sooner.
  17. I don't think they feel bad about Monday night.
  18. Are you kidding, that was some clutch tanking right there. They needed those three and they got 'em. They've already been swept by Houston this season. The low point was probably stepping onto the field opening day with the roster they had. Now they are at least going to get some benefit from the tank job.
  19. I pay attention the first week then my interest wanes but I definitely watch. Hockey taking over just as the Cubs season ends always helps, but now I'm going to have to do other things, like talk to my wife or something.
  20. I don't believe I've ever heard Romo described as consistent or safe.
  21. Yeah, the guy's response was meatball-y, but I'd take Romo over Cutler, too. Romo has had a better career, but I'd take Cutler in a heartbeat.
  22. I think I got something like 9 points on that one from an Eagles fans I was attending the game with.
