  1. Better question is how the hell are the Cardinals off to best start since 2000. Tim Kurkjian (or some other ESPN anchor, they are all the same to me) picked them to win the division and I laughed at it at the time but now... But now what? Now that they've started the season 4-1 you think they're going to make a huge run at the division? There's absolutely nothing to 'but now...' about. Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, the White Sox, and Florida are atop their respective divisions, you worried about them too? I could see Tampa Bay hanging in for awhile Tampa's going to surprise a lot of people this year. I'm not saying they'll make the playoffs, but they have a solid young core of players and they could be good for a long time, much like the Brewers are starting to be. I think you're right there as well. I wouldn't be shocked if they put up a winning season. i honestly wouldn't be shocked if they finished second in that division
  2. yeah, apparently pie is the reason we are losing games...not some suspect pitching or ryan "blackhole" theriot hitting at the top of the order... jeez lou...
  3. i just want to say that i really really really hope lou does keep giving pie the majority of the starts in center...because if not he is pretty much wasting away right now...and if they are going to continue to dick around with him then not putting him a deal for roberts would seem to be a bit silly at this point... unless they are hoping to hang on to him until the deadline and use him for a deal after last season...i just get worried that lou is going to bench him again... since hendry and co decided to hang on to him...let the boy play...just let him play theriot on the other hand...yikes...i just stand behind him and hope that his days at the top of the order really are over...
  4. tough call...but if they are both available...i would go with burnett over greene dempster can be the 5th man...or lieber... hopefully someone is taking marquis
  5. everything hear is sort of correct...although i expect dempster to be solid...i think marquis will be traded at the deadline opening the door for lieber... and there is no way we are losing the rest of our games baby 1 down 93 to go!!! :yahoo:
  6. first game i can actually watch all the way through today...feeling good about it it all turns around here boys
  7. i wish we had brian roberts
  8. 6 friggin games guys!!! 6 friggin games!!!! who else is kind of starting to wonder what it feels like to win?!?!??
  9. yeah, we were playing like this at the end of the year too
  10. i will appreciate theriot when he is batting eighth, and i will adore him when he no longer starts
  11. i know mang...i was a jokin...i do like the majority of your posts though...for what it is worth
  12. it isn't ridiculous sheets was on yesterday sure...but are you telling me that inserting roberts instead of theriot would have made no difference at all? come on
  13. I'd be willing to blow him away and get ripped off (a little) if it means we have a rotation of Z, Lilly, Harden, Hill, X for the length of this window we have right now. i like you david, wanna go out sometime?
  14. to be fair...not all of it is over reaction...and calling for a ban when a thread is started? yikes
  15. the only way greene is going to be available will be if the padres are a walking disaster come the trading deadline...until then...there is no way they are going to deal him unless it is a severely stupid and lopsided deal
  16. check it out guys fukudome lee soriano ramirez derosa soto pie theriot fukudome derosa lee ramirez soriano soto pie theriot welcome to suggestions, but i think that is probably the best we can do with these bunch of fools... and...if you want to throw johnson in there... johnson fukudome lee ramirez soriano derosa soto theriot or johnson fukudome soriano lee ramirez derosa soto theriot whaddaya think?
  17. someone should print out the roberts thread and send it to hendry maybe it will spark something inside of that beast of a man and then we can have... The Brian Roberts Thread 2.0
  18. i wouldn't mind soriano batting third actually...i really think he should bat 3rd or 5th...either that or put him back at leadoff... with theriot leading off, essentially soriano is still batting leadoff only the team has already made an out...no dice piniella
  19. christ, i thought today's game was bad enough...no need to hit the panic button so quick and are you REALLY prepared?
  20. This matters how? Granted, Soriano did look particularly horrible, especially in his second at bat that featured him swinging the bat 6 times at 6 balls. Very frustrating. At least with Theriot you know the exact outcome of his PA every time: "Ryan Theriot flies out softly to RF" Oh, come now. He grounds out plenty often. exactly...the majority of his two-pitch at bats are those 10 foot bouncers that then roll softly into an infielders glove... i mean did you see that shot he hit up the middle...that thing was juiced!!! theriot's offseason workout has really made a difference
  21. hendry only wishes he was that small or that they were made that big
  22. is this just speculation or did you hear from one of your souces!!!? :tease: Actually, I heard from the guy who delivers Hendry's pastries in the morning someone needs to get a hold of that bloke and slip some cyanide on those pastries pre-delivery
  23. is this just speculation or did you hear from one of your souces!!!? :tease:
  24. maybe THIS is the new brian roberts thread?!?!?? :yahoo:
