  1. right on, this makes me happy and makes a lot of sense...
  2. what the crap? what the crap! man, murton is our poor little bastard child
  3. i am almost positive there was a quiet rumor floating around about us possibly acquiring him during the offseason... anyone confirm this or am i just hallucinating?
  4. DO IT NOW
  5. your avator is wicked!
  6. ok, i was not worried at all until i read this post...
  7. wow, did this just happen...if so, congrats!!! A little over an hour ago. don't want to jinx anything, but so far a pretty nice game to have as a birth backdrop
  8. wow, did this just happen...if so, congrats!!!
  9. i was taking a nap...what the crap is going on here fellas? so...i guess soriano will be back in two weeks and then he will go down again in the summer... christ...it seems like the same thing as last year... anyway...i just pray theriot isn't going to be batting leadoff again
  10. so, he is still too highly touted to get him straight up for murton then...i wonder if we could though in one more lesser player...i am not too terribly familiar with the rays farm system though...do they have anything that we should be interested in...besides the obvious choices
  11. i actually would love to see something go down with the rays...i live in clearwater, so i could go root for murton all the time... that being said, my buddy and i had this conversation about last week and he was saying that brignac was once highly touted and then has fallen a bit recently...is that true?
  12. SOTO i do agree with you though SOTO
  13. you really shouldn't worry about the brewers...you should really be worrying if lilly and hill don't return to form because without them we are going to go nowhere... with them however, the brewers will not be able to outlast us I don't really understand where the idea that the brewer's talent doesn't stack up with the cub's talent comes from. I think the only area where we have a clear cut advantage is in the bullpen, and we all now how unpredictable bullpen performance is. If Sheets stays healthy, then a rotation of Sheets, Gallardo, Suppan, Parra, Bush/Villanuava/Weaver is at least as good as ours, with a good chance of being better than ours. I am worried about the Brewers, and I'm especially worried about the Brewers if Lilly and Hill pitch like they have, for the rest of the year (which they won't). no, i never said that...the brewers ARE a very good team, and they have a very nasty line-up...that being said though...once our lineup starts to gel...i think we are slightly better plus i believe a huge wild card in the race will be the trade deadline this year...i have a feeling hendry is going to pull off something very very nice...but that is just me probably being way too optimistic I wasn't necessarily referring to you. I just recall a lot of people thinking that we have more talent than the brewers, and I just don't see that at all. I expect a very tight race. i think the only reason people think we have more talent than the brewers lies in one name... MARQUIS

  16. he is now the fifth starter and on verge of losing his spot in the rotation geez...i sure hope lilly can pull his head out of his arse... i tell you what...i am proud of the cubs for pulling out some games this year that would have been sure fire heartbreakers last year, but we are not going to do anything without both of our lefties back to form
  17. I forgot that all of NSBB's brilliant minds (who just happen to not be brilliant enough to have jobs in baseball) do. Pretty much always it seems. (I'm not saying I agree with yanking Hill, but seriously, people on NSBB think they know everything about baseball - sometimes it gets tiresome). right on brotha!!
  18. i have been thinking about this recently...it is really funny how of all the arms on our staff lilly seems to be immune to criticism... i am hoping he pulls his head out of his behind...but i cannot say that i am not truly worried about him right now
  19. well shoot i guess they're basically eliminated, what with 7 whole losses. might as well give up now. no, they are not screwed now...but...and it is a big but...if they should drop say 5 or 6 more games then you have yourself a pretty damn big hole...and it will take some serious streaks to climb out of it
  20. Mike Fontenot? Jason Bay Nate McLouth i picked up McLouth in my fantasy league before i made a couple of trades because i needed bag...the kid is friggin good...i know it is early...but color me impressed and happy for the pirates...the one team in the central that no matter how hard i try...will never be able to dislike
  21. greene strikes out a lot and doesn't pitch
  22. didn't we rock gorzo the last time we faced him?
  23. wouldn't matter, theriot would probably be starting at second... derosa is a USEFUL utility man~
  24. little known fact... cedeno has red chest hair
