  1. while i am not endorsing kojock coming back to this team and i would be shocked if he did i would rather have him playing than murton
  2. oh my god you guys are you seriously...seriously...considering dumping our prospects (prospects that should be used to net us a indians or bluejays starter at the deadline) because soriano is going to be out a couple of months?!?!? seriously? the only way we need to make a trade for an offensive player would be if someone else gets injured...that hasn't happened yet and i doubt that it will... why isn't anyone suggesting we call up pie? micah was already getting called up before sori went down...pie gives us lots of flexibility in the outfield... i really think we will be ok guys, as long as no one else gets injured...
  3. well...i had already prepared myself for august...i guess i wasn't too far off on that estimate crap i hope this team can come together for 2 months... oh boy THE TEST BEGINS...NOW
  4. who should be the scheduled starter on tuesday for the rays game?
  5. who cares about matt...micah's bat is nasty!!! =P~
  6. lol cardinals fans they do realize that they have overachieved this year right? right??!!?
  7. i honestly would be happy with .500 ball...maybe a little over until the all-star break... hopefully everyone stays healthy and then we add that much needed arm oh and rich hill where art thou rich hill?
  8. lol...this sums up my fantasy baseball year i just traded for him boo...i actually like wainwright though...even though he is a cardinal
  9. this is very tough...the experience of boston says to go with them...the angels will be there though... the white sox??!?!? actually i have no clue
  10. all i am going to say is that i have enjoyed the ride so far, it is still REALLY early, and we need another pitcher PLUS hill... ok then
  11. yep, he is a pretty emotionless pitcher... ha ha, you're right. he's always pointing at the sky, screaming in rage and showing up opposing hitters on strikeouts. ha ha...maybe somewhere along the line here the definition of emotion has been lost...i didn't say anything about it being nice to see hill freak out and have an emotional outburst...i just said emotion...feel free to run to the highest mountain on it if you want to
  12. I could tell the Lennon part was a joke, but I could also tell the part about needing to show emotion was serious. he doesn't need to...but it would be nice to see sometimes...it isn't an end all be all situation though... so...i stopped watching sports (and baseball in particular) after the marlins beat the indians in what was that 97? anyway...the part about hill being told to shut up by the manager...when did that happen...i started paying attention to ball again during the very tail end of 06... Not only was he told to shut up by management, he was demoted shortly afterwards to "work on his attitude". http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060521&content_id=1464636&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc yeah, that was a few months before i got back into it...wow...that seemed like it was a big issue at the time...pretty silly if you ask me... thanks though...i do have a new found respect for hill!!

  14. yeah...is there anyway that i can change my handle from omphaelos to ellipsis?

  16. wow...you guys couldn't tell that the last part about lennon was a joke?
  17. No, in fact this seems to be the only reason so many people hate him. who hates him? i have read people questioning his dominance here...but nothing verging on hatred... i will admit though that i would love to see a little bit of passion from the guy...i saw some from lilly the other night...that was nice to see...i used to think he was a robot last year until he slammed his glove in the NLDS what the hell does passion have to do with being a good major league starting pitcher? um...i think everything...if you don't have passion for the game...why would you be playing it? don't get me wrong...i know hill has passion...but he is also a perfectionist...who could probably just use a good yell...maybe he should go see that person that lennon saw before he wrote "mother"

  19. I love DeRo. oh my god...that is beautiful! :rotfl:
  20. No, I enjoy it very much actually. What I don't enjoy is your refusal to accept that Hill is "beloved" because he was very good for a sustained about of time. He had sustained minor league success and after a brief hiccup upon being called up (and yanked around) to the majors he sustained very significant success for a year and a half. Why you refuse to allow yourself to believe that is beyond me. The fact that you'd rather have Zambrano on the mound is inconsequential. I'd rather have Zambrano as well. And Chris Young has nothing to do with the discussion. Yikes man. I know that hill is beloved because of his success. why else would he be beloved, he doesn't exactly exude charisma like dempster, Z, and others...he looks like a gawky stork when he is on the mound...i know he can pitch well...i have already said that...christ...i saw him do many many amazing things...but...i just don't see him as DOMINANT yet...i was hoping this would be the year...and then he crapped the bed... jeez...i want badly for him to succeed... why in the hell wouldn't i? i pray for his little behind to get back up to the majors and have success because we are going to need him...
  21. are there any good short stops that could fall to us this year?
  22. are we all thinking of the same Rich Hill? yes we are...i know he is beloved on here...but...i guess we will just have to agree to disagree he's beloved because he was the best pitcher in the rotation for the last half of 2006 through the end of last year. ignoring that is foolish I can't allow myself to believe that. There is no one else in the rotation who I would rather have on the mound for a big game than Zambrano. Case in point, Chris Young.
  23. this is alpha male board then...i did not know that...
