  1. um, there are no guarantees in sports or life for that matter stupid sensationalism
  2. You guys simply amaze me. I try to be helpful and you guys find my post hilarious? Unbelievable. I was sincere in what I posted, thinking that you might want to take the opportunity to express your opinion to Cub management as well...but I guess not. calm down brother, i for one, dig your vibe man
  3. as soon as my phone charges...i am [expletive] calling!!!
  4. There is another big name he mentioned that has been discussed here, but he asked me not to say what he told me. He's available and should come very cheap. I like that Harden is available, but it seems like a long shot since a third team would have to be involved. It would be typical for the Brewers to get C.C., the Cards to get Harden, and the Cubs settling for Joe Blanton. Edit: By the way, his mainpage has some stuff on the Cubs/Cards too, but it's mostly the same stuff that he said in the e-mail. I have no doubt that if Harden is the guy Hendry wants, he will make it happen. Besides this is one man's opinion, and not fact, so, who knows the truth. If it's true that Hudson is available, he should be the target. without a doubt...i got a semi when i read that this morning...
  5. whoa...can i ask you to get started then...because i would be quite curious to the reasoning behind this...
  6. hendry respects wolf because he called him up and explained why he signed with san diego or whothehellever and not the cubs jim likes puppies
  7. quickly...somebody get me hendry's email...i need to send him my thoughts!
  8. mussina is known to be a big east coast guy. his family is in eastern PA and he's never going to play anywhere outside the mid-atlantic states at this stage of his career. why would we even want mussina?
  9. no, it doesn't, but you know that they are going to make a move to fix this too... JIM HENDRY MAGIC MAN do your stuff fool!
  10. it should be burrell by a long shot
  11. Wow, beautiful. Are these all simulated games? I don't have a good feeling about today at all. I feel we'll get stomped 8-1 or something. No, that was against actual Brewers rookie ballers. yay!!! keep it up OPR...we are all pulling for you baby!!!
  12. brett myers isn't going to stay in philly now... maybe the red sox can trade for him?
  13. That brings up the most interesting question: Would you rather "clean-out" the system for Sabathia or send Cedeno and a pitching prospect (Marshall?) for Burnett? seeing as there is about a .5% chance we get sabathia...it is a no-brainer...the only thing that makes me worried is losing cedeno, who has been very valuable to us thus far... i have wanted burnett since the offseason...he has struggled this year, but i still think it is the right move... the only other pitcher i would really want would be harden, and that has got to be at about .0000000042% chance right now though
  14. senor bruce!!! care to shed any light on what pitcher we are really really looking at right now...or is everything very hush hush?
  15. Lets hope the Dodgers can step up their offer here. While Id rather CC stay in the AL, Id much rather him go to the Dodgers. Also, the Dodgers might be inclined to outbid the Brewers if it comes down to it, as they are more likely to be able to offer him an extension. If they're truely serious, they migh need to add Kemp, Ethier, or Loney to the deal. What if we were to try to get in the action with a 3 team deal and get Brad Penny or Derrek Lowe from the Dodgers, just for the sake of blocking the Brewers? Long term we might be better off if the Brewers get Sabathia. why? short term it makes me nervous... i think the brewers are a little bit crazy to do this...and if they do they have to go after another bullpen arm... if they get C.C., they won't be resigning him and they won't resign sheets...so they are obviously in win this year mode You answered your own question. oh come now...i gave responses as to why the SHORT TERM makes me nervous not the LONG TERM, which is what the question is referring to...
  16. Indians signed RHP Jeff Weaver to a minor league deal and sent him to Triple-A Buffalo. Weaver had spent some time in the Brewers' farm system this season before asking for his release on June 12. He was 2-4 with a 6.22 ERA in nine starts for Triple-A Nashville. It'd be shocking to see Weaver called up to the Indians this year, but Paul Byrd is struggling and C.C. Sabathia is probably on the move, so who knows? per rotoworld... very very interesting...

  18. Might want to pick up a math book. 4 starts in arizona and 3 more in iowa is 7 total. On a normal 5 day roation thats a wopping 35 days. That is early to mid August and thats your worst case scenario (if he has turned the corner). Best case is a week or two after all-star break. Pitch a game or two in Arizona then get the break to reevaluate and look over his starts then a couple starts in Iowa. If all went well he would be back a week or two after all-star break. However I'm going to count it as a fluke session and not count on him at all. That way if he does turnaround its a huge bonus rather than the alternative of getting my hopes up and then being disappointed. You think worst case scenario....I think that's best case. He's been in the minors for 2 months now. He's not gonna prove he's perfectly fine in 3 starts as was suggested earlier. And you might not want to be an ass. 7 starts on a 5-man rotation is 35 days, add in 5 more in that scenario that it would take for him to pitch in the majors, that's 40. Add in probable off days and you're looking at a month and a half, which takes you to mid-to-late August. Add in the Cubs could have 7 capable starters by then, and why waste 1 or 2 starts in the final week(s) in August when Hill can be a Sept. call up. yeah, but if he is a september call up...he won't be able to be on the playoff roster right?
  19. His role is minor league pitching coordinator, so he can travel throughout the system; he's not tied down to one team (much the same as Dave Keller with hitting). So he certainly could work with Hill at Iowa. He probably could in Chicago as well, but I don't know how common it is for minor league staff to work with players on the major league roster. They brought in Keller to work with Pie in Chicago. So of course it's an option. if it means getting hill back to the norm or better...i think you do whatever it takes...
  20. i know it is slightly stupid...but maybe burnett just needs a change of scenery?
  21. hell no...rich hill does not need to go anywhere near this deal...rich hill for sabathia or harden?...ok... for burnett...no way
