  1. it would be redundant...but if pie is going to pass the time away in the minors...i would rather have lofton instead of edmonds although...i would be wary of the price tag... i think if center field continues to be an issue we may see a trade for coco at the deadline... it is games like today that get me thinking about all the problems on this club oh well
  2. egads...this is some silly stuff today craptacular
  3. We'd have a five-man rotation in the playoffs? clever...those are our available pitchers that lou can work with...better? you're the one who called it the rotation oh christ...you guys are so nit-picky...you know what the definition of rotation is don't you? why does everything have to be broken down to such a small factor of complaint...? why?
  4. No. Not at all either. I think if the Cubs wanna go far in the playoffs they're going to need to aquire a #2. Most people here have been saying that for most of this season. Lilly isn't this bad, but he's not a "true" #2 that you can hinge your playoffs on with the ace. yep...this is why i constantly pray for the bluejays to loose at least 95% of their games till the allstar break... BURNETT CHA CHA CHA DL ChA CHA CHA... what are you talking about and on the topic of hill...who isn't a number two pitcher... why not have zambrano burnett lilly dempster hill that is a rotation i would have a lot of confidence in should we make the playoffs We'd have a five-man rotation in the playoffs? clever...those are our available pitchers that lou can work with...better?

  7. It's 3 hours before game time. Probably got about 2 more to wait. are you from florida?
  8. i wish brenly was our manager
  9. Cubs.com already beat you to it. Also, the dude in the bathrobe in the AM/PM commercial looks like Josh Brolin in No Country for Old Men. no way mang...all of the mlb.com forums are set up horrendously... i am talking about a well maintained board just like this one, only a pretty much anything goes environment... if any of you have ever been to ateaseweb.com it would be something along those lines only baseball and not radiohead
  10. Seems like a mature crowd over there. It's a fun group for those who have a sense of humor and aren't easily offended. while i do enjoy this board, i would really love there to be a no holds barred cubs forum... oh well...maybe i should start one! :stickman:
  11. johnson is batting fifth how unawesome is that?
  12. you make a me nervous no really...not so much :hello:
  13. no...he needs a day off and duke is a lefty Why does he need a day off? He just had one yesterday. And Dome hits lefties just fine anyways. Bruce? according to the yahoo sports fantasy profile...lou said that he may be giving him a day off soon...don't know why...i don't really think it is that big of a deal though
  14. no...he needs a day off and duke is a lefty
  15. yay i am off work tomorrow...i woke up in a bad mood because i knew that today was an offday coming off of two straight loses...whatever... WIN THE DAMN GAME
  16. What do you think we would have to give up to get him? Would Sean Marshall and Donnie Veal get it done? Or would they want Rich Hill or Sean Gallagher? you know what...i am not terribly familiar with the blue jays system...i know that they currently have a piss poor offense... can someone else help us out here!? maybe pie and something else...i really have no clue what the jays would be interested in, but i also have no doubt that we could swing something for burnett...he is solid...but no top tier...which should make it easier to haggle
  17. i posted in the game thread today that burnett is who i have been wanting since the offseason i want him BAD
  18. i don't know if it is possible, but i have been praying daily for burnett to be our deadline acquisition since the offseason
  19. This happens to CFers when a ball has spin and slice on it. Sweet. He's definatley a Cub now. He did what Edmonds does. Bourn probably catches that standing under it. Bad angle+no speed=omg what defense!!!111! And lol @ Bob even thinking that was anywhere close to as good as the Johnson catch. What a joke. So the Astros announcers called it an astounding catch, yet Cubs fans can't get over the fact that Edmonds actually did something to help the club....kinda pathetic if you ask me. If Z can forgive the guy why can't we? you are really being naive if you honestly think that catch wasn't pretty awesome
  20. what a catch eh? i clapped for the very first time, with enthusiam, for edmonds! um...have you guys noticed that since lee has been in this slump he has changed his approach at the plate...he was doing that look over the shoulder thing ala coco crisp earlier in the year and it has been absent recently...coincidence!?
  21. I think the Padres are quickly abandoning any intention of competing this year. good observation
  22. YES i am tired of the all-stars determining this for the world series...completely idiotic
