  1. ugh If that lead-off bat means Furcal, I could go for that only because Furcal would be an improvement over Theriot. If it means anything else, I'll pass. i wouldn't mind tejada, houston wants to deal him
  2. yeah, i think kaplan is like that slow kid in the neighborhood that your mom always forced you to be nice to and play with despite your angry retorts of rebellious vitriol
  3. this really isn't adding up, unless kaplan doesn't know how to speak properly on the air dunno very strange
  4. boxers or briefs?
  5. http://www.xxsportsradio.com/common/global_audio/40/3029.mp3 there is the towers interview
  6. it will be so awesome when we land peavy and then have a couple of those "terrible" pitching prospects go all SOTO on tower's ass!
  7. i love gregg's man glasses can't. wait.
  8. i tend to agree...i am firmly in the NO to johnson camp is hendry trying to play like the phillies and jamie moyer? blah blah blah this could turn out to be a total bust of an offseason
  9. so...players have to be offered arbitration so a team can receive the draft picks for them, is that right? is that we haven't seen any signings yet? i am a little confused and still heartbroken that hermida isn't a cub yet screw peavy!
  10. or it could be renamed the take out your anger out because the cubs can't win anything in the playoffs and if that wasn't bad enough, come inside and get your hopes up for things that will never happen thread i heart brian roberts and jake peavy the two bestest cubs players ever~!
  11. whatever, he isn't a big game pitcher anyway
  12. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/sullivan/20081115-9999-1s15sullivan.html laughs? :stickman:
  13. if the rays get hermida, i hope he [expletive] tanks
  14. i honestly think swish should play 1b he is also my candidate for comeback player of the year excellent deal for the yanks
  15. i am fine with that he will be missed though, that is for sure
  16. That's good enough for me, as I think it's unreasonable to expect more on an internet board. My thanks to Donnie for sharing (part of) his info - regardless of what eventually happens. this is true big ups to donnie for keeping things interesting...better to be interesting than not IMO
  17. if the yanks could land both cc and burnett their rotation would be pretty nice going into the season cc wang burnett pettite ? not bad at all really
  18. i agree with this i am pissed about this trade just because i was hoping to see the name hermida in a trade involved with the marlins this offseason...and gregg could be a throw in... however, since it is just gregg...wood would seem to be all but gone at this point... our bullpen is a question mark right now, so it isn't the worst move i have ever seen
  19. hawpe is intriguing, but i haven't heard any rumors about the rockies moving him as of yet
  20. ibanez is only athletic in the sense that he is a professional athlete. Here's to hoping Hendry can "wow" the Marlins for Hermida because, there's no benefit to wasting money on Ibanez. ibanez is second on my list after hermida...he has solid numbers and would really bring some solid production to the lineup...i don't understand the dislike for ibanez His age. i can understand that, but who else would you rather have besides him? realistically
  21. You know the A's aren't competing next year...right? the A's weren't exactly terrible this year though i wouldn't be surprised if they stole a playoff berth next season

  23. Jake Peavy-S-Padres Nov. 13 - 12:41 am et CBSSports.com's Scott Miller believes the Padres will soon ask Jake Peavy to waive his no-trade clause to complete a deal to Atlanta. Miller thinks the deal involves Yunel Escobar, Gorkys Hernandez, either Charlie Morton or Jo-Jo Reyes and one more pitcher, possibly Blaine Boyer or prospect Jeff Locke.
