  1. i think felix pie will turn out to do good so, if he goes, i wish him well...he looked good in his few at bats in september...at least i thought so...
  2. the peavy thread is already so much more awesome than the roberts thread just because we have all already been recently seasoned to shenanigans i love it!
  3. zero chance... i wonder who this source is... :-k
  4. i wish i was getting cool texts like that...i don't even care if it is true or not...that crap is freaking exciting!
  5. not only is it a way, it is an absolutely bloody fabulous way to start the offseason then sign ibanez...done... does anyone here really think we could land peavy and/or greene and still acquire hermida?
  6. jeez...why do so many of you have so much angst? i haven't seen any philly fans yet, but when i do i am going to congratulate them without hesitation... to each his own i suppose
  7. yep, i agree i think adam dunn will be a ray come 2009
  8. good for scotty eyre i don't think we should have let him go
  9. GO PHILLIES i called it before the series started and i am sticking to it phillies in 5 baby
  10. i voted a few weeks ago for bob barr in hind sight, i wish i would have voted for mccain oh well
  11. I agree with you, Cole Hamels starts are must wins for the Phillies. I'm enjoying watching a World Series where I don't hate either team. But go Chase Utley. I have a mancrush on utley kid is nasty
  12. yo...i am diggity down wit dat dilly dang G
  13. i say...the phillies in 5...that is pretty fast
  14. Ridiculous. Dempster will almost certainly regress from his 2008 numbers, but to declare he'll be another Marquis is a pretty bold and, frankly, absurd statement. It's not like his 2008 was stretched out due to fluke or luck wih him being saved by the defense and such...he kept his walks and home runs way down. His overall numbers over the season are, by and large, excellent. Marquis never had a season like this. The gulf between what you can expect from Marquis and what Dempster did in 2008 is huge. i will gladly eat crow or what have you, but i don't think that will be happening Not sure I can find a link to the quotes, but I recall Dempster talking before the year about how much he learned about approach and locating pitches from Greg Maddux. It's interesting that he talked about that and then had his best year ever - without a ton of luck helping him through it. i remember reading that as well...i mean...you never know, obviously, i just would rather him not be resigned... no biggie though...apparently OPR had a good outing in his first start in the fall league the other day...no walks and 2 runs through 5 i think...
  15. Wood is the one player I have real difficulty separating emotional attachment from a cold business-like approach. I would be extremely sad to see him go, and, to me, think it's worth overpaying to keep him (I know that's not sound baseball business sense, but it's Wood). My two dream scenario's are Wood throwing the final strike for the WS win and Ron Santo still being alive to see it. maybe it is a good thing to let him walk...if i was the president of the cubs and they won it all in 2009...you can bet your sweet ass that woody would still be getting a ring...he will always be a cub...
  16. COME ON PHILLIES!!! I LOVE YOU UTLEY!! :mail:
  17. Philly is a fine city. A passionate city, but a fine one. It's a good beer town. Philly is a pit, but Tampa is the much douchier city. tampa does suck, but downtown st. pete is actually pretty cool...nothing remarkable...but much better than tampa...if we were allowed to have guns on our cars i would have already racked up about 5000 kills in tampa alone
  18. funny that you say that since i have said many times this season how surprised i have been in regards to dempster's performance and how dead wrong i was about having him the rotation this season...but...if you want to take that as not budging from my original stance...then go right ahead walker
  19. i will gladly eat crow or what have you, but i don't think that will be happening you mean eat crow again yep, and i wasn't the only one...what point are you trying to prove here?

  21. is there anywhere i can watch this game online?
  22. Yeah, I'd rather part with Dempster than Wood. actually, i really don't mind wood leaving, but dempster having about a 98% chance of staying is the big problem with me... i love the guy, i really do, but good god damn he is NOT going to pitch like that again next year...it will be like having marquis 2.0
