  1. Per Rotoworld The Denver Post reports that "the Rockies called about the availability of Padres ace Jake Peavy, but ... Colorado is not one of the teams for which he would waive his no-trade clause." Going from pitcher-friendly Petco Park to Coors Field would be quite a shock to Peavy's system (and stats). The newspaper speculates that the BrCaUvBeSs are the current favorites to land Peavy. Source: Denver Post
  2. call me crazy, but i would rather have eyre win a ring than floyd i always liked eyre, and he is one of the big reasons why i am pulling for the phillies
  3. they have pulsing strobes...is that close enough for you?
  4. OMG OMG OMG so, does that mean we are giving up pie in a hermida trade?
  5. i think it is brilliant that the red sox are coming back in this series and i think they take it tonight tampa will be a better club next year, so they have nothing to worry about...they will only have time to expand a more thoughtful fanbase... i do think the phillies beat the crap out of the red sox in the world series though
  6. i don't mind wood all that much, but man i am just waiting for the day not too long from now when i can be pissed off by reading something on here telling me that dempster will be a cub for another 4 years if hendry is smart and lets his emotions cool...letting dempster go will open this team up for a little more offseason wrangling
  7. come on sox...beat those ray rays!
  8. i don't really disagree with the comment on the rays...they seem to be wearing a magic hat of sorts this year, not saying they are not good, but they kind of remind me of the 2005 white sox a little bit and yes, i like commas
  9. I don't think a bad three games means the team folded under pressure, but that's just me. No, but when it happens two years in a row, it can't outright be dismissed. I suppose. Last year's team really wasn't that good though. maybe not that good, but they were better than the diamondbacks choke choke choke without a doubt in my mind, these last six games are folding games because of pressure Well, that settles it, then. i know right, since i very clearly indicated that it was my opinion and my opinion alone, but go ahead and take it any way you want

  11. who else do we get to play first though? The majority of the thread has been to get rid of DLee so the Cubs have a shot at signing Tex. So, I didn't think you needed a 1B back. that's all i was going off there
  12. who else do we get to play first though?
  13. who is he talking about?
  14. i'm not saying its going to happen...but if...IF...he can have one of his patented hot streaks in the post season...his numbers won't be as terrible anymore...just saying
  15. Yes like everyone. actually, let me put this a better way how does beltran do with splitting his hits to all fields? can anyone pull up the numbers for our team because it seems to me that we have a bunch of pull hitters and i would love it if the cubs could go a more balanced approach at the plate, however i am not at all sure if my assessment is correct
  16. isn't beltran just another streaky hitter?
  17. And the Obama impression was horrendous. The next funny thing Fred Armisen does will be his first. i saw the obama impersonation from the first debate and i thought it was quite spot on and very funny
  18. looking at soriano's numbers...all it would take would be one soriano hot streak in the playoffs and his numbers would look pretty decent overall here is to him having that hot streak in 2009! :good:
  19. red sox v. phillies world series philly in 7
  20. Everyone knows Cheech & Chong are funny...but can you imagine how funny they'd be if they didn't smoke pot? Q. What did one Phish fan say to the other after they ran out of pot? A. Damn, this music really sucks. phish is back baby! :stickman:
  21. You want a catcher that tips pitches? Also Hank did hit .292 last year. blanco is a tough call... he was probably the nicest story for the team this past season considering his medical issues the previous season although, my friend thinks he looks like a baby killer
  22. Yeah, that damn Soriano simply does not score runs as a leadoff hitter. DAMN HIMMMMMMM. he said he wants someone with higher OBP not the ability to score runs But you want those guys on base...so they can eventually score runs. Unless a gritty run counts for more, PUH-SHAW. I'm not saying Soriao needs to be hitting leadoff, but it's not like he's been damaging up there. People talk like all his runs are crippling the team. you punk...why did you have to catch that before i edited it? :beee:
  23. Yeah, that damn Soriano simply does not score runs as a leadoff hitter. DAMN HIMMMMMMM. crap actually, it would be nice to have someone with a higher OBP than soriano
