  1. Some rumors that Abreu might be looking at 3 million a year right now, Hudson has to come around that same price this late in the game. Hudson might not make a bad number two hitter. I thought Hudson's glovework at second was some of the best in the game but I could be remembering wrong.
  2. Thats great News that we where at least in on Nomar , as each day passes maybe he decides he wants to play for a ring , instead of a starting job that he won't stay healthy for. Getting him would really help lessen the sting of trading Dero.
  3. Levine mentioned that 3 teams where talking to the Cubs about Rich Hill, I am curious to see what kind of vaule he will for him.
  4. I could really see this being Rich Hill , Wuertz, Viscanio, but not Olson.
  5. I still think a two year deal around 9 per is a steal for sheets if you can get protection based on inngs pitched. No need to tie up more money long term in Peavy. The Cubs keep Marshall,Hart,Stevens,Olson as rotation depth/trade. Harden is already hurt. Zambrano is coming off a season with shoulder issues.
  6. Since Chicago is Peavy's place of choice to pitch I don't see him demanding the option be picked up.
  7. seems like he might be had for even cheaper than the numbers your floating Vance according to some of the most recent chatter. Hendry not being on the hook for another long term contract and saving his save trade pieces makes a trade for Peavy look like a bad idea.
  8. Bako is horrible and I hope the Cubs either stick with Hill or can find a backup catcher who can at least hit a little.
  9. I would prefer Hinkse over those mentioned , but I would like to see Hendry target Nomar for this role.

  11. ESPN 1000 is reporting a winner will be announced today in the Cubs sale process. What is the time frame on winner being announced to Hendry speed dialing new owner about Peavy contactc?
  12. if someone can google it , it says Vitters is off the table, I would post story but I'm on the iPhone .
  13. the hot stove cubbies web site has a MLB.com from lee Hamilton saying trade talks are back on . Stevens/Marshall/Hart/Olson
  14. Anyone from the board attending this year?
  15. I think he'll bounce back a little bit this season after catching on somewhere. The Royals?
  16. Tomorrow would be a good day to announce the winning bidder.
  17. Maybe the New owner gives Hendry some payroll room . Hendry could sign Sheets and trade for Roberts.
  18. Garrett Olson for Pie was a rumor this offseason. Which would seem like a good return for Pie.
  19. With the way the market has played out this offseason I would like to see if Hendry can bring back Nomar to play a super utility role. He won't stay healthy for the whole season but we could use him all around the infield . Another guy who I think will find a starting role elsewhere who would look good coming off our bench is Ty Wiggiton. Can Hendry sell Nomar on Chicago again with a good chance at his first ring before he retires? I know the Phillies where trying to go down this road with him as well.
  20. Much rather have Lo Duca than Bako.

  22. awesome to have new owner named by convention.
  23. I get emails from Cubs.com in two different accounts and neither one has this email about a press conference.
  24. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/chi-tue-cubs-01-13jan13,0,2381060.story Bet that Cuban sneaks back in?
