    The Philles plan as of now is to move there Top prospect over to Second this spring for a tryout , he has been playing 2b and ss in the AFL. They have had talks about bringing back So Taughci to handle 2B like he did during other Utley injury spells.

    It's hard for me to get worked up about pitchers antics when watching Zambrano start 30+ games a year as a Cub fan. Valverde will cost us tradable assets something the Cubs don't have a lot of. It would require a trade within the div. Valverde makes close to $5 million next season . Would Hoffman take $5-6 million with to close for a contender? Would Wood Sign this cheap?

    Cubs can still trade a guy like Veal before the rule 5 right? Hendry gonna make a deal soon and more than likely it a 3-1 type clearing some roster space.

    Maybe the Cubs weren't sure they where in on the Furcal Sweepstakes ,his agent is in town and Furcal was said be cutting his list down to three teams maybe there close on a deal with Furcal .

    The Cubs are no longer seeking a trade for Jake Peavy because they completed a deal. Dempster is just a piece , Hendry/Hughes have said they are in all out win it now mode.

    Kaplan has good inside info. When he hints to something there's usually a reason. Like the unforeseen circumstances that Cuban may be indicted, tried and sentenced, thus not allowing him to buy the Cubs and expand payroll? I know it's not relevant. I imagine in order to trade for Peavy and accomplish adding other needs the Cubs may not be able to piece it all together. Or maybe Towers is demanding Samardzilla, and he won't waive his partial no-trade clause - assuming San Diego is on it, which would be really odd. Confirmed by Bruce he has a full no trade clause not a partial. Yahoo writer corrected his story also.

    I don't think he can right now , Hendry is out searching for third/fourth team as Towers has been saying the past few days.

    I think his agent his mentioned that the list given towers is fluid and can change. I don't think Peavy view the Braves as contenders and was sold by the pitch jobs of former Cubs to come here.

    I guess in my fantasy offseason if the Cubs can afford Furcal,Dempster,Peavy, and got Wood back on a one year deal why not get greedy with Bradley.... I'd rather have Dunn knocking out windows on Sheffield all summer and him playing 150 games in RF =D> :-))

If the Cubs netted Peavy/Furcal and brought back Wood on a one year deal Griffey's bat wouldn't be good enough for RF? Johnson/Derosa/Hoff/ aren't terrible backups for Griffey in the event he flops.

Griffey loved his time in city. Like the big unit ties to Piniella and wants to play for a contender. As bad as everyone says his defense is I can't imagine this former Gold Glove center fielder being worse than Dunn/Ibanez. Griffey might play for a cheap one year deal. Not a chance with the others.
