  1. Where's Prior on that list because those were similiar pitchers to marquis maybe 3 years ago. Currently, only Byrd and Lohse are even in the same ballpark. Maybe Livan Hernadez but that's it.
  2. He has far superior plate coverage and doesn't strike out enough to be anywhere near Harvey or Branyan. He also is able to recognize offspeed junk he can't handle. Also, Vitters doesn't have the true power those two had. to be fair I couldn't think of a big bodied, not very toolsy, hacker type bust with above average but not great power. I guess Richie Sexson now might work but Vitters probably has less power than him.
  3. Ceiling: Scott Brocius Floor: Alex Rodriguez Seriously though Ceiling: Aramis Ramirez Floor: Ryan Harvey Likely outcome: Poor man's Russell Branyan
  4. Considering we will likely have to face Khalil Greene and probably Adam Dunn I wouldn't be so sure to think this isn't a 50 win team at best.
  5. Yes, please get the deal dunn. So we can have the worst outfield defense in recent memory. Other soriano's throwing arm what makes him a acceptable RF?
  6. maybe someone like Dunn or Burrell at a lower cost. But I'm just spitballin'
  7. I don't know how you can say that. Wilken's grade is still a incomplete. His first draft was okay but it was hampered by the lack of picks in the 1st five rounds. 2007 draft was above average IMO. And it's way to soon to say what the 2008 draft will have done.
  8. Supposedly the White Sox got the Magician though not any other of the gods of our legends. I haven't heard about Jane Fonda.
  9. Except for the fact. That the Padres really can't afford to keep him and Peavy is really directing this trade via his NTC. The M's offer was stronger than the Mets but he rejected the idea of going to seattle.
  10. If the cubs want to also get Hermida along with Peavy it's probably the only way it can be done. Unless the Marlins really value Ty Colvin
  11. except he's not a servicable SS. He's a servicable utility player playing SS out of necessity because the only real shortstop on the roster has the baseball IQ of Corky from life goes on.
  12. It was probably the Cajun Cannon metric developed by the blogger #2'sCajunMommy
  13. and our current shortstop has the same range as a tee ball player picking grass. Your point?
  14. Thank you. It's like people have already forgotten about Edmonds. Edmonds still sucks No, he just sucks again, because he no longer wears a Cub uniform. And is 87 years old. Don't sell him short. He sucked with the cubs. Objective reasoning be damned in this case.
  15. Thank you. It's like people have already forgotten about Edmonds. Edmonds still sucks
  16. So we're trading Zambrano, Lee, and Derosa for salary relief to get Peavy and then we're going to sign Tex for $200 million. #-o #-o #-o Don't forget the super valuable Neil Cotts and Michael Wuertz
  17. and what power hitting SS would the cubs get since Dejesus is a top of the order guy
  18. Isn't that like the exact same thing they said about Alexi Ramirez last year? No, Ramirez was supposedly one of the elite hitters in cuba but he was not touted as highly as viciedo.Ramirez wasn't even the best player on the Cuban WBC team that was Yuniesky Gourriel. You might be thinking for Kendry Morales who made the jump at 21 or 22. He's been less successful but Viecedo was more touted than him.
  19. He's better than any of those guys in most cases alot better.
  20. Cotts and Wuertz have no business getting being a barrier in getting peavy. Same with Kevin Hart.
