You'll be singing a different tune when Bradley, Soriano, and Ramirez all go on the DL. You are right. I never thought of that. Between those injuries, the guaranteed injuries to every pitcher on the roster and the additions of Khalil Greene to the cards my thoughts about a 50 win season are a pipe dream. The cubs would be lucky to you know win 10 games. HENDRY Sox OMG!!!
Have you watched Dempster pitch? He's so much better than those guys. I don't understand the people who don't think that Dempster is good. Watch his stuff; it's filthy! He was mis-cast as a reliever and still wasn't terrible. He will continue to put up 15+ win seasons for the Cubs. Is Estaban Loiaza a better comparison?
Not that I disagree or anything, but for what it is worth. Ryan Dempster has had two ASG appearances, which is two more than AJ Burnett and only one fewer than CC Sabathia. All star game appearances are not real descriptor of good pitching Shawn Estes was once a all star pitcher.
Well, the Cards got Khalil Greene, and will likely trade Ludwick for Kelly Johnson and then proceed to sign Adam Dunn. The cubs should obviously go in to rebuilding mode because there is no chance in hell that they can compete.
Between a more seasoned Upton and Scherzer, a full season of rauch and a possibly healthy Byrnes (though some would debate he's makes them better) Along with the likely improvements of Young, Jackson, Drew and Reynolds they could be very good team. They need to find a 2B and another starter but they could be a very good team this year.
Hes just about the most anti-Angel guy you'll find. High contact, low walk rate, situational hitting, sacrifices, all hustle...thats Dunn to a T, right? Latino too. wait Dunn to the mets? Let the knashing of teeth begin
