  1. Awesome. Thanks, RammyFanny.
  2. I don't think he's worth nearly that much, but is providing good value at the moment, while only being 25 years old. Unless they are actually offered some legitimate top 100 prospects, like you seem to think they should get, there is no reason to trade.
  3. A pretty decent #4 starter, oh wait, that's what he is.
  4. Castro BB. This game is already a success, what a great day.
  5. And he's also hit .450ish in those 6 games.
  6. As I have previously stated, I really like Valbuena's approach. I believe he has worked two full counts this game. He's walked and doubled, and he seems to play a solid 3rd base (not sure what the metrics say).
  7. 3-4 straight so-so/bad starts in his first full year of being a major league starter. He probably needs a little break, he's almost hit the amount of innings he threw all last season. He still has the stuff to be the real deal though.
  8. The LHP lineup is already bad enough against lefties, but when it goes up against a RHP it really sucks. They have managed to score a run though, which is a real accomplishment.
  9. That's great to hear about Rosscup. I was wondering what he was up to earlier this week.
  10. Catcher is batting too high for that to be a Dusty lineup.
  11. What is the thought on Brooks Raley? He had a great outing for Iowa tonight (7 IP, 2H, 1R, 0ER, 1BB, 7 K's), turns 24 this month, and has been pretty successful at nearly ever level. His ERA coming into tonight's start wasn't great (5.93) but that could have been attributed to some bad luck (.373 BABIP) and his FIP was a more respectable 4.59. His ERA is down to 4.72 after his start tonight. Obviously he isn't going to be a TOR pitcher. He has always had low-ish K/9 numbers, and low BB/9 walk numbers, but do you think he has a chance to be a decent 4/5 in the rotation at some point?
  12. It's only been a handful of game, but I like Valbuena's approach. Seems to foul off a lot of pitches and work deep counts. And he has showed some good power, which is also nice.
  13. The "Barney: Purple dinosaur" guy is back.
  14. Randy is really pounding the zone early.
  15. Brett Jackson brettjacksoned in his first AB.
  16. Don't know if this is the one you were talking about, but it's still a classic. Both because of what is said, and the inherent meatball-ness of the whole thing.
  17. I was just thinking about the Garza trade. What's going on with Zach Rosscup?
  18. The first game post-Jaramillo the Cubs take 5 walks and make Scherzer throw 115+ pitches in 6 innings. Obviously, that is how Scherzer has pitched all year (poorly), but it is still nice to see.
  19. I'd be pretty happy if we got Gould, because I played basketball and baseball with/against him all the way through high school.
  20. Looks much better than the bizarre numbers UIC has on his profile... http://www.uicflames.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/heesch_michael00.html And WTF? Led team in wins (6), starts (13), innings pitched (84.0), strikeouts (42) and ERA (5.68) 1 - How does he go from 42K in 84 IP to 118 in 122... 2 - How do you lead the team in ERA at 5.68? Are the fences 300 feet? I would guess the move from D-1 to NAIA helped him out.
  21. Is Barney having a better season than Starlin? I wonder this based solely off their OPS' at the moment.
