  1. Intrigued? Sure, but I'm doubting he winds up as anything more than Rusin. If we don't add him to the 40man this offseason, someone will take him. Ya, Rusin probably isn't a bad comp. He doesn't strike as many people out, but I'm guessing neither of them have much of a future with the Cubs. Jokisch's numbers this year were very similar to Hendricks', but there aren't many successful pitchers like Hendricks in the bigs.
  2. Should we be intrigued at all by Eric Jokisch? I'm guessing he doesn't have great stuff, since he's rarely mentioned around here. However, his numbers look very similar to Hendricks at Iowa this year. Low BB numbers, decent K numbers.
  3. Yep. That was a good game.
  4. Yeah, I don't think the "real" national championship was between an underseeded 8 and an overseeded 1 Virginia and Memphis?
  5. Not sure about that. Michigan was with Kentucky all game. Louisville was close also. Also giving Bo Ryan a week to prepare and I am sure they will give Kentucky all they want and probably more You're right. However, the Shockers got Kentucky at full strength, while Louisville and Michigan didn't. Also, both the Shockers and Kentucky played at the absolutely highest level and both shot lights out against each other. Not taking anything away from Louisville or Michigan, I just think that the level that the Shockers played at to lose by 2 to Kentucky would have beat both Louisville and Michigan.
  6. It's becoming more and more apparent that I attended the national championship in St. Louis last Sunday. It was a fun game.
  7. I don't see it happening. Love to be wrong though. They have beat 4 RPI Top 100 teams, hopefully those can become a couple Top 50's. Gone on the road and won 3 games. Have the #52 ranked schedule to this point. Really too bad the Valley is now so God awful (losing Creighton and adding Loyola). All they can do is keep winning games and see what happens.
  8. I'm going to my first Bulls game tonight. All it took was them coming to my hometown to make that happen. Hopefully Derrick plays well, and they make an otherwise meaningless preseason game interesting.
  9. Nice, but the hell is this outfit? I think just about every color of the rainbow is accounted for http://www.jargonscott.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/aflweekone-31.jpg Wounded warrior. Camo shirt, breast cancer sleeve, Nats hat. Salute.
  10. The Banquet Beer. I like it. I'm a craft guy also, but of the BMC's Banquet is easily my favorite. $12.99 for an 18 pack of bottles serves as a nice cheapie to go to later in the evening.
  11. Hendricks went 6 innings, 6 hits and 2 ER. Finishes at Iowa with 40 innings, 35 hits, 28 K's, 8 BB's, and a 2.48 ERA.
  12. I had no idea that Casey Gillespie was that highly thought of as a prospect. Probably because Wichita State's baseball program has been mediocre for the last 5 years or so, and I haven't really followed them that closely. Glad to see a Shocker getting some love though.

  14. Just flew on one of those out to Denver for the first time. Definitely an experience I don't want to revisit too often, a lot of turbulence.
  15. Man, Bud Light totally sucks.
  16. I hope the real Jacque Jones & Henry Blanco are celebrating the same way tonight. They better have.
  17. I would give anything to be in Chicago tonight. There isn't even anything close to a decent hockey bar in Wichita. Henry Blanco (a rare poster here) and I celebrated the crap out of this in my living room tonight. The Blackhawks have brought me so much sports happiness in my short 22 years of life.
  18. Pierce with 4 K's through 2 innings.
  19. BJax had another game with no K's.
  20. I do know that he had signed at Wichita State (he's from Wichita) and was looking for a pretty decent bonus, in order to skip college.
  21. Come now, the last one is a silly thing to hope for. (Well, I guess Cabrera has some potential to emerge as a "major" rotational prospect; no one else at AA or AAA has that potential and we knew that before the season began.) Arodys, whenever he starts throwing at AAA again?
