  1. WHO CARES?? well since that's what he probably meant by "balanced", I'd say its pretty relevant. Well...that's my contribution to this pathetic, threadless excuse for a thread. Then I stand by my who cares. Who cares if the lineup has more leftie if it's a worse lineup? Cubs management. And that's all that matters.
  2. Put Marshall as the #5 and let Hill be the long man. Just get rid of Vizcaino.
  3. I don't know if anyone has covered this, but the people here are way better at projections than me. What can we expect out of Heilman as a starter?
  4. Wasn't the other one to like 60 something?
  5. In other words, what's the big deal about keeping the best prospect in the system because there may or may not be a position for him in 3 years? Not smart thinking.
  6. Wow. Relax guy. I've just been reading the last page of the thread every other day with all the non-news riff-raft. Don't believe my literacy should be questioned over that.
  7. Hendry has his heart set on Peavy, which is fine with me. But if no one bites on giving Sheets a multi-year deal, the money freed up this offseason for Peavy could be used to give Sheets a one year deal while the farm remains intact. Marshall could spend another year being the 6 starter, and if the new owner doesn't want to bring in $63 million to the payroll, this is a good solution. The longer Sheets waits to sign with a team, the better chance the Cubs have of not seeing Randy Wolf brought in.
  8. Everyone is gonna want some of that.
  9. I would like to see Jordan Gross signed in the offseason, then DE/WR/OG in the first 3 rounds. Leftwich and Orton competing for the QB spot is fine with me.
  10. Brandon Rush should have been on Kobe there. As well on the last Laker possession, his length would have better contested Kobe's shot than Jarret Jack's. The last play for Indiana, well that was just pathetic. Don't throw the ball into your center who can't shoot if you can't at least give him 2 options to pass to. That play was broken, and it showed. Should have been thrown into Troy Murphy, who if he couldn't get the pass off to Mike Dunleavy could turn and shoot.
  11. Well Hendry seems to have maneuvered some payroll space, and if Ricketts wins the bid he might give him a little more. Its quite possible. I have the same feeling that I did through the Robert's ordeal, hopefully this one has a happier ending.
  12. Sweet, we can grab one in the 3rd round and sit him on the bench all year.
  13. just like adrian peterson
  14. I want to see Danny Granger make the All Star team. Put up 42 on the Pistons last night, now averaging 24.0 ppg. 5 reb 3 ass. Not quite as balanced as Caron Butler but its hard to ignore the scoring.
  15. I could see Towers coming back to the Cubs to revive this, but since there was likely a 3rd team involved, if not a 4th it will be extremely tough to get done. Its a shame but lets wait till the Cubs sign Bradley/keep looking for suitors for Marquis/and Hendry peruses the offers for DeRosa allowing him to focus entirely on Peavy. Peavy and Axelrod being so pissed as well as the payroll cap Towers has, and the talks so far, I just don't see it being dead. Just put on the backburner. Some may disagree that this should be pushed aside, but whether you agree with Hendry's priorities or not, it may just well work out.
  16. What a terribly thrown ball.
  17. to expound, the angels have said tex is their #1 priority this offseason...The Red Sox have said they are willing to make a historic offer. Tex is creeping towards Arod money
  18. Wow...I wonder what the Red Sox and Angels will offer him.
  19. Even if this economy I didn't expect Bradley to get less than 10m a year. 2/18 is as low of a contract I could see him offered.
  20. That depends…are you encouraged when a woman hits on you at the bar, then starts making out with your friend, then tells you she likes you? Are you kidding? Sounds like someone I'd bring back to my apartment.
  21. Everyone knows Guzman's injury history, Hendry probably just feels adding him isn't worth it because Towers doesn't value him the same as Jim. Probably counting on him to be a factor in the bullpen since he let Wood and Ceda go. I hope if it was add Guzman to get it done Hendry would budge.
  22. i like this meph character but fellating one's own ignore list is quite pathetic
  23. Good point. We would be back to Fukudome in RF. We will need to sign Edmonds again.
