  1. What a cutie! :D
  2. Well, to be fair to us, Rusch pitched at least 2 of those games. Arroyo single-handedly destroyed Glendon.
  3. Good for JA. If the 'skins aren't willing to negotiate, they're just trying to take advantage of a situation.
  4. Well, I don't know what the numbers are, but Hill always had the curve and the strikeouts (UMich grad here - watched him back in the day when he was frustratingly brilliant/awful). The only thing he lacked was control - mostly spotting his fastball (still got Ks on the erratic curve). That's what turned the corner for him. Some guys do develop late, I'll give you that (not that Pawelek would be late if he turned it on now). I agree with you that the jury is still out on Pawelek, but it doesn't look good so far. He has makeup issues and seemingly hasn't impressed the org this season. Is he done for? Of course not, but it doesn't look promising. The reports on Pawelek is that his stuff has regressed, not progressed. That's not good at all. Guys like Gallagher max their ability and prove everyone wrong. Guys like Pawelek seemingly rest on their laurels. It's too bad we can't find a guy with Pawelek's natural skills and Gallagher's drive.
  5. *&(^!!!!! :x I can say "*&(^" right? Pawelek has 'bust' written all over him. If only Gallagher had his natural ability.
  6. No. Z's walks and getting beat down by the Donkey beat us. Harang gave up some hard hit balls. Lucky for him they found defenders instead of going for XBH. Freel and Griffey made some nice plays. Harang had good stuff, but he wasn't dominant. Thats baseball for you  That's why it's so great.

  8. Ichiro has a decent OBP and good defense. No power. None. Our offense is going to be fine. If there are offensive holes, they aren't in the OF. They're at SS and 2B. Our problem will probably be pitching, not offense.
  9. heh. So can Prior be termed a clubhouse cancer if he's still in AZ?
  10. Harang's pitch count per inning definitely went up as the game went on.
  11. Yes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29
  12. What's your provider? Insight. I'm in Bloomington-Normal, if that helps. 5? http://www.chicagoblackhawks.com/gamecenter/HawksOnTV.asp
  13. Seriously, how uncool would it be if everytime Carpenter has a good start I come back and bump this thread? 30 or so bumps would be annoying, trolling and wouldn't contribute anything of value to the board. Much like your post which was... dumb. The last time I checked this was a Cubs board, not a cards board. Thanks for playing, troll. if anyone's trolling, it's you. and don't you feel dumb after zambrano's start today. Now who's trolling?
  14. I'd love to get ARod for Z under the right circumstances, but saying Zambrano can't throw strikes is absurd. Not really. Z led the majors in walks (115) last season. He was also fourth in the league in strikeouts (a mere six off the leader). Can't get those without throwing strikes. Sure you can. How many guys to you see swing and miss on stuff outside the strike zone? Plenty. Especially with Z. It's all part of the game. His movement is fantastic, but I'd still like to see him hit the zone more frequently.
  15. I'd love to get ARod for Z under the right circumstances, but saying Zambrano can't throw strikes is absurd. Not really. Z led the majors in walks (115) last season. I know that...that's the main reason besides his back issues that I would trade him. But he also had a ton of strike outs. You gotta throw strikes to have those. Z gets a lot of swings and misses on stuff out of the strike zone - great movement. I really don't think he throws that many true strikes (assuming the batter doesn't swing). I could care less as long as he gets guys out, but issuing free passes before the Donkey comes up is bad. :( I'm not for trading Z if he's signed for 5/85 (or thereabouts) b/c we don't have an ace to replace him. We really don't have anyone in the pipeline that has a solid chance to be a staff ace. His injury concerns, like you mentioned, scare me too. If we have to pay anywhere near what Z would get on the FA market (could happen if we table the contract) then I'd say trade him at the break. The Cubs could get screwed either way. Hopefully the future is kind to Cub fans.
