    90-100 batters a season? Hill's going to have to revert to pre-2005 BB/9 levels for that to even have a chance to occur.

    Soriano will improve. Will he improve fast enough to keep Pie from pushing him to LF? I doubt it. My biggest concern is what happens to Murton in that scenario, as Soriano can't handle RF in Wrigley if he can't play CF passably well. Murton doesn't have the arm for RF. :(

    Maddux is the smartest pitcher of his generation and still has ridiculous movement and location on his pitches. Prior has no control at this point and little velocity. So I'll say it again - how is he supposed to be mean? * I think Prior is on his way back, but it will take time.

    Where are you getting this impression? Everything I've read sounds like this is going to get done right around opening day. edit: they've already agreed on years (5). i can't imagine it's going to fall apart over a couple mil a year.
