Does it matter if the production is from power or getting on base? Production is production. If we're not going to play Murton, trade him to a team that would value his services (im looking at you Billy Beane). Trade Murton+ for a guy like Swish. I understand that production is production. I'm not opposed to Murton being recalled; in fact I was opposed to his demotion. That being said, if we could get Sosa for say Ryan Harvey or Brian Dopirak....I really don't think he'd be a bad risk. yeah but he doesnt exactly give us a big payout. id rather go fishing on dope or harvey than know what im not getting with sosa I agree with you there. Despite all the flaws currently in Sosa's game, hitting against LHP isn't one of them. It's not likely to happen because of Jim. Sosa, however, doesn't have a say...and I believe he wouldn't mind the trade at all, especially as his PT in Texas begins to diminish. No, it's just defense and all around offense that disqualifies Sosa from ever being a consideration for being on a playoff team. I'm digging that .738 OPS. It looks like something we could nab from the AAA scrapheap. Key there was LHP Big whoop. Have you ever seen somebody traded to a place where he truly did not want to play? Soriano to the Nationals, spring 2006. Soriano didn't want to play left, he didn't mind going to the Nationals. and I'm sure Sosa might not want to platoon, but wouldn't mind going to Chicago (considering his agent called the Cubs first when he was looking to comeback.) Byrnes is a hard worker, both in the box and in the field. Unfortunately hard work doesn't equal production. We have one future spot open in the OF. That is RF. Soriano in LF. Pie in CF. Byrnes in RF is a joke offensively. We'd be better off platooning Jones and someone who could mash LHP (plenty of cheap options available).

Bad stat. Decent outing. I liked watching Rich throw that change today. Im glad he decided to start throwing it. Instead of throwing a curve in a 2-1 count when the batter knows he will throw one, he can now throw his change and get hitters to ground out to the 3B and 1B. Yeah, I prefer his 1.14 WHIP. 8-)

Nice game today. 1 ER in 6 IP is pretty good when you don't have your best stuff and the defense decides to take a nap. That 3.58 ERA sure does suck, one-pitch-Rich.

I'll be honest, I really don't know what Demp usually tops out at. Is 92 okay? It's good coming off an oblique injury, but I've seen him hit mid 90's regularly. He'll get there. His offspeed stuff is good enough to deal with a temporary drop in fastball pitch speed.
