  1. He plays exclusively on the wing for club, and his skill set is not a clean fit for how Berhalter's USMNT plays with a 9, so I would say no unless there's a big change. If you're looking for a winger that might be a sneaky good fit as a USMNT 9 I think it's Weah. yea, morris just isn't very good at it so maybe to keep his spot, he needs to change. I have never really seen Weah play.
  2. Can Morris by converted to a 9?
  3. There's also this guy . . . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konrad_de_la_Fuente
  4. ----------------------Steffen Dest--------Long--------------Brooks------Robinson ----------------------Nagbe ----------Adams-------------McKennie Morris----------------------------------Pulisic ---------------------Jozy What I'm doing here is not getting the most talent on that I can. If I did, I would put Dest at LB and throw in Cannon or Yedlin (who is still very good). I just think Dest is the type of player that you put in his best position, the position he will be playing for giant clubs for the next ten years, and don't mess with him. I am as excited about Reyna as anyone, but Jordan Morris is more than one level above in terms of consistency and maturity. He's a game changer at the CONCACAF/qualifying level with his speed and power. I would also put a healthy Weah above Reyna at this point. Striker is obviously the biggest issue. The dropoff between Jozy and Sargent is huge, and we know that Jozy's health has been an issue for a decade now and the older he gets, the harder it is to depend on him. When fit, he's still by far our best option, especially with his ability to combine with Pulisic in a way that won't slow CP down by making the wrong run/read/pass. It really sucks that he's been our best striker for more than a decade and we haven't developed anyone even close to stepping up to fill his shoes. Nagbe as regista is a bit of an outlier in that he stopped accepting call-up's and has been more of a box-to-box player, but with his ability to advance possession with the ball at his feet and the speed and athleticism of Adams, McKennie, Morris, and Pulisic, I think he's the best deep offensive initiator in the pool, even if it's not his natural position. A prime Claudio Reyna or John O'Brien would unlock this team's offense in a big way, and I think Nagbe has that in him. The space those other midfielders can open up with combination play and slashing runs could give Nagbe more space than he's ever had, and he's an assassin in space. Plus, every now and then he'll uncork something like this (lol at the wet noodle of a layoff from Zardes): I would be (am?) concerned about that midfield's ability to keep possession. I would take Reyna over Morris this afternoon (and certainly over Weah).
  5. not sure where you got this - I think he will leave.
  6. They’re 6-4 (97 win pace) vs teams with a winning record. Almost 40% of the games so far. So the key to winning is playing central division teams. you're saying they do better against bad teams than good teams? Shocking!
  7. boring semis but should be a great final!
  8. KB hit the full house vs CIN Weird, no idea how I got that mixed up. He did have a 5-5 2 HR game in the Milwaukee series though. I miss KB being an Uber elite hitter I'd settle for him being a competent hitter
  9. Think of it as the chip is a shorten version of a swing instead. I know it's the same thing you're saying, but it works better mentally for some odd reason. Your iron swing shouldn't have ruined your swing with the driver and hybrid. It should be the "same" swing. Esp with the hybrid, you want to hit it like an iron. It's just a longer club so it'll take a little time to get used to that. Are you a digger or sweeper when it comes to irons? Really on the chip? That's not what I've been taught.
  10. barca is just old and slow . . . city-bayern would be a great semi . . .
  11. Good riddance! It looked like Simeone spent the last six weeks drilling them on diving. Totally disgusting. and . . . Tyler Adams with the winner!
  12. they abandoned their style . . . shockingly low scoring game although PSG looked pretty hapless until Mbappe came on. This week rocks. I wasn't able to start watching til the 70th minute or so, had they bunkered in before Gomez went off? I assumed between their talisman getting hurt and tired legs they didn't have much other choice, especially with Mbappe's speed being a huge threat. They didn't really bunker until that point I would say, though they weren't that aggressive in their pressing. PSG's offense was all Neymar until Mbappe came on but PSG won every footrace every where on the field. The difference in team speed was pretty stunning (though not that surprising). You may be right that that was all they had left - the forward (Devan?) totally ran out of gas and couldn't hold the ball up at all, which really killed their chances to get out from the back - especially coupled with no over the top threat.

  14. Following up on this Kyle, I went to the range and worked on firing my hips just a little earlier and it made a huge difference. The key for me was that I could feel the correct timing and it correlated with a great shot - I feel like I now know what I should be practicing.
  15. "The next thing I want to get going in my swing is forward weight shift. I just don’t think I’m getting enough of it. When I watch the golf swings I want to emulate, the slide forward is almost a whole intermediate step between takeaway and swing, and they end up with basically all their weight on the forward foot. I’m still not quite getting that right and struggling to get rotated all the way through in the follow through because my weight is still too middled." This seems to be my problem with the driver. Worked on it this morning and definitely improved although the work also resulted in a couple miserable shanks.
  16. And in that vein, shorten your swing. Do what you think is 75% of your swing, it's probably actually how long your swing should be. Piling on here. Figured that out around my 5th round this year when I realized that taking my 6 iron and just trying to punch out of the woods was giving me my best contact. Even 175 right down the middle off the tee is plenty valuable in a scramble, and getting the experience of hitting down the fairway is going to help a lot more than bouncing through the trees until you make it to the green. While I don't disagree with the concept, I have always found this hard to implement. Trying to shorten my swing or not swing as hard just messes up my timing. The advice for me that always seems to work is relax and let the club do the work. It seems like over-swingers throw their hips forward and then miss the ball instead of being smooth.
  17. adjust your setup - stance and ball position. Should be easy to find articles online.
  18. yep. madrid and city looked rusty. varane basically gave the tie away and city was not sharp in the final third. Debating whether to watch the other game or not. looked like two crappy penalty calls.
  19. Agree but every team should have to hit a benchmark. Especially COVID teams. If they fail to reach say 52-55 games every game short counts as a loss. I was thinking this too - if teams are caught breaking rules and they have a COVID outbreak, they should forfeit.
  20. https://www.espn.com/soccer/barcelona/story/4154947/barcelona-us-teen-konrad-de-la-fuente-in-champions-league-squad-vs-napoli Doubt he sees any playing time but still pretty cool . . .
  21. That's some good company . . .
  22. Is there anyone with a lower exit velocity than Almora? I caught his hit out of the corner of my eye last night and immediately knew it came off his bat. Does he even still rake lefties?
  23. kind of crazy golf week . . . played Monday and felt like crap. Went to range and hit a bucket - almost all bad. 10 minutes before our tee time, pro shop guy comes running out telling me we're up (I had three balls left). So I hit my three balls, walked over, and teed off with like 6 old men chattering as I was hitting. Naturally I shanked right and ended up with an 8. The rest of the round was great. Today, tried to play without having any coffee. Terrible mistake. Worst round in weeks. Luckily playing again this afternoon.
  24. To play it safe, let's just play .800 ball all season long Please schedule the pirates every week
  25. yea, I didn't know if he already works with a nutritionist etc. but he needs some kind of new plan.
