  1. the real bet for each game is which is higher, cubs hits or white sox homers?
  2. babip going from .300 to .298 hardly seems like a problem. in other words, banning the shift won't matter. balls not put in play seems far more problematic because not only is there less scoring, there is also less action.
  3. "many believe Reyna could surpass the levels Pulisic has reached."

  5. and the new right back will be? https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/4186851/wolves-sign-defender-semedo-from-barcelona
  6. 7-7-5-7-5-6-5-5-4-4-4-5-4-4 Something about getting warmed up? We played 15, which I think is ideal because you quit before you start to suck again.
  7. Good Lord is Barca's management incompetent. How did Bartomeu get to his position? It is interesting to note the last vote of no-confidence (which failed) was in 2008 - right before one of the most dominant runs in soccer history.
  8. oh right, I remember reading about this but knew nothing about him. Awesome - he went on for Boateng. I am starting to feel like the USMNT has a pretty bright future.
  9. Bale back to spurs. I think this actually makes sense for everyone. Let's see what he has left.
  10. 0 dribbles? What does that stat mean? Chris Richards got 20 minutes for Bayern. Who is Chris Richards?
  11. man, Bayern adding Sane seems a bit unfair.
  12. ah, welcome to life where everyone in sports is younger than you . . . terrible touch by Reyna but good movement and finish!
  13. I try to think that way but I am a sucker for numbers. I finally hit a real drive on a par-4. Not massive, but 200 yards and in the fairway. I pushed the approach shot to just a few yards right of the green, but managed to stick it directly behind the random lone tree sitting there. I had no line to the green at all. Chipped to the apron, then up to within 5 feet, one putt for bogey. I wanted that par so bad. I find trees like no other so I feel your pain.
  14. Looks like a different day today . . . players that haven't started moving up 30 spots . . .
  15. hit the ball well today but somehow still ended up at almost double-bogey for 11 holes. This is why I don't measure progress by scoring alone . . .
  16. need some wind! Dang, I read an online article about chipping and pitching and then went out and tried the suggested techniques - it was magic! Can't wait to play (and fail) tomorrow!
  17. impact can also be negative . . .
  18. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29907715/san-diego-padres-seattle-mariners-moved-due-air-quality-concerns Seems a little odd - not sure air in San Diego is much better than in Seattle.
  19. the standings always seem to show the cubs ahead, do they have the actual tie-breaker?
  20. Only in 2020 can the Cubs calculate their division winning magic number off the third place team instead of the second place team.
  21. the old 8-8-3-8-3-3-6-3?
  22. bad read by Happ. He should have scored. Baez, Heyward, others score on that. There is zero chance he gets thrown out at third if Lindor gets to that because he has to go so far to his left - runner on second should be able to read that. Nobody out changes that a lot. What’s the probability of scoring 1 run with, essentially, the bases loaded nobody out? Because you need to be more sure than that of A. Not getting thrown out by Lindor, and B. Not getting thrown out at home. well, those weren't the scenarios but that's exactly my point. He made those calculations incorrectly and could have cost his team the game.
  23. Semedo is, not good. Koeman already knows and likes Dest (remember he was trying to get him to play for Netherlands!). I am quite sure he would beat out Semedo. But, we can disagree.
  24. Koeman taking over helps his chances for sure. Koeman probably a bad hire for Barca, but a good one for Dest if he does go there. I think he is actually a good hire for Barca if only because he has the guts to make changes that are desperately needed. They wasted an entire season on old men last year because the coaches lacked courage.
  25. Barca need a right back. They have no options. I also think they use their outside backs more offensively. Both places are fairly risk because it's perform or find the bench. Barca is not quite the shambles you seem to think it is.
