  1. They're the notre dame of soccer - always over-rated. They should have lost this game by 3 or 4. ManUs first goal was about the weakest penalty I have ever seen.
  2. what a finish!
  3. Correct. the official was pointing out who should get the red card and used an offensive term. https://www.espn.com/soccer/paris-saint-germain/story/4256997/psg-vs-istanbul-basaksehir-abandoned-due-to-alleged-racism
  4. McKennie scores at the Nou Camp!
  5. What happened for Red?
  6. Steffen to start for City today making his champions league debut. He seems to get forgotten in the Americans in Europe conversations (I guess because he seldom plays).
  7. Putting NL clubs in limbo is the worst possible choice. This is stupid.
  8. Cub as a verb really offers so many possibilities. She makes a dead man Cub might be best for the next few years.
  9. that Reyna shot was an absolute rocket. Dude has a chip on his shoulder - asked about it he said, "I should have scored 2 or 3 and had an assist."
  10. my suggestion is invest in the lessons first and the equipment second. I got a nice new driver but it turns out when I slice it, it still slices! The good part is when I catch it, it goes. I've got some messages out to coaches in the area. Mostly for my nephew, but I'd like to take a handful to make sure I'm on the right path. I think the benefit of coaches is they see things you are doing wrong that you can't see.
  11. I have the Cobra 3/4W and absolutely love it. I absolutely crush it (when I get it right). Apparently, you don't ski. No, but I do have custom-made $1300 ice hockey skates that I use to play replacement level defense in the second-lowest beer league level. I know how easy I give in to stuff like this. my suggestion is invest in the lessons first and the equipment second. I got a nice new driver but it turns out when I slice it, it still slices! The good part is when I catch it, it goes.
  12. for what it's worth, anybody who follows local chicago sports media would have heard len frequently talk about his love for radio and his desire to do radio (usually would come up when he'd be doing cubs playoff games with pat and ron) someday. it's definitely not some conveniently made up backstory unless he was playing the realllllllly long game. does that mean i think marquee's management or the ricketts had nothing to do with it? no. but i think the people viewing this story most cynically aren't locals who follow a lot of this stuff (i.e. to have heard len on his frequent radio hits, or to hear the other local guys talk about him, many who had close friendships with him like matt spiegel who played at hot stove cool music with him and stuff like that) I was mostly blowing off steam. I agree with you. Hell, he would do spring training internet radio games with the AA affiliate guy. He’s probably excited as hell. The Sox have a good young team and he’s doing what he wants. That said, the Marquee [expletive] probably made it a lot easier. It's almost as if people's decisions can't be boiled into one simple thing. Though I will say I would immediately quit any job that required me to wear a suit every day.
  13. and three straight NLCS appearances when i had previously seen one and a horsefeathering world series ring on all their fingers so basically you're trying to argue that we should give the white sox extra credit for not having failed yet? i only raise it this way because you're the one who wants to use hindsight. Arguing nothing, legit asking. Judging the Sox core on projection, which is just educated guessing until it happens. We overvalued our prospects. Sure, they won a title, but that doesn’t mean we were right. Schwarber is horsefeathering Rob Deer. The games won in the regular season is the argument, not the title. And, I've been gone a long time, but Chicago was definitely the opposite of cosmopolitan in my experience.
  14. stouts. have a good day tomorrow!
  15. I have the Cobra 3/4W and absolutely love it. I absolutely crush it (when I get it right). Apparently, you don't ski.
  16. I don't think you need to go nuts to get a driver that will let you swing easier and still get plenty of distance.
  17. thanks for mentioning the elbow tuck - made me realize I had stopped doing that. Resumed and crushed my new driver - well, crushed balls with my new driver.
  18. I moved further from the ball and that kept me in to out. Too much sometimes. I spent the entire range session today going aggressively in-to-out and I was still managing to slice it. I think I have a really bad open-club-face problem. I can see it even when I practice in slow motion, my natural movement is to let my wrists break and open up like crazy. I have some ideas on how to fix it, maybe? I'm wasting so much time on this stuff because I "don't have time for lessons." I think this is the source of my distance problems too. I'm not a great athlete by any stretch, but I'm a healthy adult male who can get a normal amount of swing speed going, but I'm getting *way* less distance than the average golfer reports. I think with the higher irons, the backspin is letting it straighten out, but the backspin is still killing the distance. Then the longer clubs would be almost a decent length if it was going straight instead of curving so much. Another thing that really helped me is focusing on rotating instead of rocking . . . and then swinging down. The improvement in my long irons has been amazing.
  19. Fun scenarios - With a loss against Borussia, Real Madrid will be out of Champions League. If Inter were to beat Shahktar, Madrid would be out of Europe entirely with a loss. With a draw, RM will need an Inter win to stay alive. Athletico also will to avoid a loss to Salzburg to stay alive. The CL could be Madridless in a week.
  20. I moved further from the ball and that kept me in to out. Too much sometimes.
  21. Shakhtar downs Madrid again . . . wow. They may actually go out in the group stages. Gotta wonder if failure to win at Sevilla this weekend will be the end of Zidane -if he lasts until the weekend.
  22. and try and have an offensive line at the same time . . .
  23. Kind of not as exciting as the last two games . . . good to deepen the player pool though!
  24. i knew it was gonna be ugly so i took my ipad to the gym and watched it on the elliptical so at least it wasn't a total waste of time Yeah, not surprising in the least. Spurs weren’t going to come out of their shell unless Chelsea scored. Same strategy as last week. That was part of it, but the number of bad touches and bad passes was shocking. It put to bed any fears I had that Chelsea didn't really need Pulisic - they do. Hope he can stay healthy (in other news, Eden Hazard is injured again).
  25. sadly wasted 90 minutes of my life watching two of the "top" PL teams play out the most boring 0-0 draw I have ever seen.
