  1. I agree with you. The emotion you saw on them was very real and I don't think they knew what to say.
  2. the story is Eriksen called his teammates and asked them to play. Not sure that means they should have. Physically, it would be tough to gear back up tomorrow I think. I do have to say Schmeichel saves that goal 96 out of 100 times . . .
  3. I didn't find the coverage garish. At first it wasn't clear what had happened and I thought he might have just torn up his knee or something. It was his eyes that indicated a serious issue first and then when they started CPR - at that point the cameras cut away. The only poor thing was the announcer going on about how important he is to the team as if that mattered. They didn't show the replays over and over.
  4. wow, just glad he is alive. that was way scary.
  5. oh God, Christian Eriksen just went into cardiac arrest mid-match. this is horrible.
  6. Deepest lying defensive mid. Sorry for the britishism Wouldn't that be a 6 and a 4 a "centre-half?" Anyway, point taken.
  7. I intentionally avoid social media stuff with most athletes so I'm nearly afraid to ask, but is it still just the one post he liked on Instagram that people are referencing? Yes. Just the Jahns insta like. It’s definitely nothing overt. The Tyler Adams-Arsenal rumors are coming hot and heavy. I’m intrigued but I’d really like a year for him under Jesse Marsch at RBL. I think Jesse will establish him as the permanent 4 in that pressing system that suits him so well. Arsenal would be more likely to do what Juve did to McKennie by turning him into the utility guy. Permanent 4?
  8. I intentionally avoid social media stuff with most athletes so I'm nearly afraid to ask, but is it still just the one post he liked on Instagram that people are referencing? yea, I think it was a gun post . . . I said that mostly tongue-in-cheek. I think we're better off not binning folks.
  9. nice shot of pulisic between mckennie and adams . . . hard to believe he's that big a trumper.
  10. sure, why not!
  11. dang, is anyone watching? Statistically, that is complete domination by the 'B' side. Also, Daryl Dike
  12. this game vs costa rica has to be the least climatic event in a long time. I mean, does anyone care? I suppose guys trying to make the roster.
  13. no, that's June 15 So he's a drunk and a scofflaw?!?! you can't see that grin if he has a mask on
  14. San Diego recently opened their bars to 100% capacity no, that's June 15
  15. if you don't know how to answer a yes or no question . . .
  16. I am a big Weston McKennie fan. Pulisic may have been captain but McKennie is the leader.
  17. holy horsefeathers wow. Guardado missing a penalty is the perfect way to change the guard.
  18. US has gone sterile with Gio and Dest out.
  19. anyone still want jordan over gio?
  20. seriously, get Ream out of there. totally over-matched. mckenzie too. Looks like the US doesn't know how to play this formation though it got better after the first 20 minutes. On the plus side, the US is now more skilled than Mexico despite a pretty poor first half of the first half. We're going to bury them in the next 10 years.
  21. yesterday's scores really reflect how bad concacaf is. Just watched the semi this morning. Hopefully Pulisic is a little less anonymous tonight.
  22. the 49ers stadium sucks. That said, it's still in the middle of the metro area and I would venture there are more football fans outside the city than in it.
  23. and revenge for 1984. no, it still doesn't help
  24. It always frustrates me that a CB can lower his shoulder into an attacker's face and get away with a yellow knocking KDB out of the game. KDB wasn't sharp anyway but that play is just annoying. There should be an option to disqualify a player without having to play a player down.
  25. Right! It's not a run down..Javy can't be 'safe at home'. I counted 6 different idiotic things the Pirates did on the play: 1. Not stepping on first right away 2. Not more aggressively running towards home 3. Throwing to the catcher 4. Second baseman not covering 1st 5. Catcher not immediately running towards Javy while he was making the safe gesture 6. Errant throw to 1B allowing him to reach That's the thing that makes this special - it's not just that the first baseman messed up, plenty of players have made dumb decisions, but that every other Pirates player just went along with it. Nobody yelling for him to go back to first or just make the tag, nobody running to cover first and get a throw. Just accepting that this is happening and it's the correct move. Its like they had a pre-series rundown of how Javy will horsefeathers with them on the bases and they were all so focused on that . . .
