  1. he did keep on barking from the dugout. funny, my tape shows differently than yours.
  2. good points MOJ - I think things are predictable but you have to go game by game and really know the teams. I think the schedule is a big factor too as at this time of year playing twice in three days hurts jump shooting teams more than interior teams.
  3. I guess my point is I am not going to get worried because he kicks some dirt in ST. who frickin' cares?
  4. gonzaga does not have a comparable amount of alumni as UCLA
  5. and that was the best game of the elite eight. the memphis UCLA game was the worst. seemed like they called everything until the final two minutes and then they called nothing.
  6. I think someone said the lineup is more balanced. This is important. Having no zeroes in there will help a lot. I don't see a loss of 40 runs as at all likely - if that happens the Cubs won't win 79.
  7. I agree completely. When you see 8 or 9 players in foul trouble . . .
  8. I think LSU could very well beat either of those teams, if they could overcome the lack of experience. LSU wouldn't stand a chance. UNC had a better Davis in Sean May along with FAR superior supporting players. Illinois played a better Glen Davis down to the wire against a team with FAR superior supporting players. LSU couldn't handle either of those teams' guards. I think Arizona, Oklahoma St., and Michigan St. of last year would win it all as well. I'm not gonna go back over my Washington/Illinois game review again. If you didn't see it, it was one sided foul calls against Illinois. If you did see it then you're a pac-10 homer/illinois hater. Statistically and athletically speaking, I think LSU matches up with these teams quite well. Glen Davis is no Sean May, but he could still play quite well against May, and I think he's better than Augustine. Darrel Mitchell is their Luther Head/Deron Williams/Rashard McCants, and is solid all around. Tyrus Thomas is a freak of an athlete. If this team stayed together for two or three years, I think they'd be just as good, if not better, than the teams in last years championship game. in two or three years . . .
  9. And I hope he drills Edmonds again. He got panned for it but I thought it was appropriate and should win his teammates affection. I remember watching that game. IIRC, Edmonds got plunked once, then hit a HR and Z was yelling at him to go around the bases quicker and then didn't Edmonds get drilled a second time? The thing that bothered me was, Zambrano is young. No matter how good your stuff is you have to earn respect to be able to yell at a veteran for trotting around the bases during a homerun. Usually when someone hits a HR off of Clemens he will make sure they run or else he's likely to throw at them. I don't have much of a problem with this because Clemens has been in the league and has been a top 10 pitcher basically his whole career. I'm not the biggest Cubs fan, just come here to post since it seems much more civil than other Cub fans I've been around. But I do think Zambrano is a terrific pitcher, his emotions may hurt him once in a while, but I think he's just super competitive which is something you want in a pitcher. What you left out was that Edmonds posed and then started the talk as he rounded the bases. He then continued the chatter from the dugout.
  10. wow. just wow on that thread on mexican immigrants. those people need to go live in California or Arizona for a while and get in touch with reality. The whole deny them healthcare and education push is just plain frightening in its implications for our society. The not have signs in Spanish argument is just plain stupid. What an ethnocentric group some Americans are.
  11. I agree too - though NC didn't play any better, they were just ridiculously talented. Had Illinois not lost their composure and run their offense, they should have won that game. I would have to say that the four teams today were far better than those yesterday. That UCLA win was an awful awful game. Plus, how did a 1 seed end up playing a road game in the elite eight? UCLA never should have been in that region.
  12. And I hope he drills Edmonds again. He got panned for it but I thought it was appropriate and should win his teammates affection.
  13. right now you have to hand it to the SEC and to a lesser extent the PAC10. These big east teams may be talent laden, but they play terrible basketball. hey, why not huck up another 3?
  14. UConn and Nova are both very undisciplined - take a lot of bad shots, make dumb plays in general.
  15. I keep hoping Clemens will control his emotions and really become good. I'm sorry but this is so overblown. Let Z be Z. He is fine.
  16. I don't know what that was. I think it was actually a foul called. But UConn didn't shoot and the shot clock didn't reset. I still don't know what happened there. I didn't see the shot clock thing but that offensive foul call at the end of regulation was awful. as was the foul called on UConn on defense. Team beats collection of athletes. Perhaps the NCAA will teach us what the olympics hasn't taught us yet.
  17. huh? Every bad call went against them starting from the end of the first half. I don't recall a single call that helped UConn stay in the game. So, following the pattern, GM should expect lots of bad calls against them in the Final Four.
  18. smart play - if they don't foul hold the ball for 3 and then call timeout.
  19. looks like sesame street. this has been the best game of the tourney so far.
  20. wow, what a brick!
  21. I think GM is for real. this will be a battle.
  22. wow. and this has been a great game derwood - especially in the 2nd half.
  23. and some awful officiating. which is a shame because GM could win without it.
  24. he should definitely be fifth against lefties. that's actually a pretty fierce lineup for a lefty to deal with - would be better if they platooned jones.
