  1. double concede? Ok, I'll chalk up two losses for you.
  2. yea, he'll have to get agressive at some point to try and win. I think once he is in the money he may get more aggressive. first couple days are all about positioning. I think he is off until Friday though.
  3. I met some great Giants fans this morning. They were taking the train to the daygame today. All about 45-50 years old and lit. Did I mention it was 8 in the morning? They spent the hour I was on the train discussing the best bar in every town in northern California and how they got piss drunk their, got in a fight, and then drove home drunk (on the wrong side of the freeway in one story). Now, I don't want to stereotype giants fans but . . .
  4. not sure anyone cares, but Mike is through day two with about 120k in chips 99th out of part one of day two - probably close to average.
  5. you can't make a trade today anyway. players must be put on waivers first (and no one has posted a waiver request yet), then there are three days to claim those players. have DJ post an agreement and I will reverse it.
  6. why should I reset the rosters? Who was the trade with? where am I? I can probably do it tonight but I need some more details.
  7. won't matter - you are destined for first round elimination! :D
  8. GHS can really seize control in the next three weeks. If Quakers comes back and wins and I hold on, the west playoffs will be set unless somehow one of us catches NSBB.
  9. Liriano should be ROY imo. What is the Twins record since he became a starter (not that that is particularly relevant). Ortiz will win AL MVP as Hafner is not a factor. Don't count out Jeter though
  10. is Harden coming back? I don't see the A's having enough offense to win the West.
  11. Bumped for tomorrow's main event kickoff. I know five people playing - no word if Kent or Vick is there.
  12. briefly, players can be traded after they clear waivers. when placed on waivers, other teams have up to three days to make a claim (by either IMing or emailing me). If you claim a player, they must be a keeper for next year. waivers are revocable.
  13. the deadline is still the 31st. I have never been thrilled with the waivers process but I think we will stick with it for this year.
  14. Actually this statement is kinda wierd since if you hit a single and steal a base you would no longer be on first you'd be on second, so you wouldnt be scoring from first youd be scoring from second. you're reading it wrong. a double can score a runner from first whereas a single and stolen base generally won't.
  15. I don't think being tired of the saga is a good reason to give Prior away. I understand your frustration, but he could still get it turned around. Look at the careers of Curt Schilling, Jason Schmidt, Chris Carpenter . . . there is no reason to give him away.
  16. ah, but answer two implies the scoring is now balanced - its not. catchers are way overvalued. and the catcher's values are skewed.
  17. not too many runners score from first on a single and stolen base.
  18. "dude, we have to win games. we can't just throw young guys out there. not when we have veteran options. glendon can keep us in games."
  19. shouldn't the answers be yes and no and not leading one way or the other? :)
  20. I wonder if hitters are laying off more pitches since they can't hit them? Also he seems to throw that slider more this year. He reminds me of Kevin Brown - not a good thing.
  21. wow, its like a scene out of twister! you're driving straight into the tornado Kurt!
  22. too many teams still in the races. and then there's the cubs . . .
  23. If by "nobody," you mean late-90s Pedro, then yes. If you INCLUDE righties, in the discussion, then yeah, I would say Pedro was as good as Koufax (Pedro's better comparasion would be to Bob Gibson, mind you.. But I was assuming from the guy who started this thread, when he was trying to compare Liriano/Santana to Koufax, that were talking about LEFTIES as a whole. Now if you open the debate, then I agree that Pedro was in the same class as Koufax, as is Gibson/Clemens/Maddux/Youny/Matthewson/Big Train/ and th elist goes on. Frankly, when healthy, Pedro was in a class by himself. Had he been able to pitch 220 innings a year consistently, he would be the greatest pitcher ever, in my opinion.
  24. get abreu and wilson, move jones to cf and get on with getting some starters.
