  1. Eyre and Howry have multiyear deals... and one has a No Trade Clause. as for the other.. no team would want to pick up a player with more than a year left on his deal... unless the selling team was going to pay most of the contract or the contract was a low price. Yes the Yankees need offense and outfielders.... but two things to take into consideration.. First, its like they said on BTN the Yankees are not going to take on his whole contract the Cubs would have to be paying for him to play for the Yanks for 2 years... and that doesnt make any sence. Second, in the AL Jones was a spotty player... he had hot streaks every now and then. right now Jones has been hot for about a month and a half. And recently he has been slowing down.. like the past couple of weeks. If someone seriously wanted Walker... hed be gone by now. they cant trade Aram...cause there is not a good FA 3rd baseman this comming winter... and they have no backup in the minor league system. I would be fine with them trading Aram..if it meant getting a powerhitting 3rd baseman in return. but that prolly wont happen.
  2. I think that if he does not take their offer.. he will get traded
  3. I dont mind to see Miggy traded... but if its not to the Cubs... I really dont want him in our division. Especially not with Houston or St. Louis
  4. I love Maddux, he is the best guy in the world. Honestly, we should probably trade him. But I dont want to just dump him... because he has value considering his future HOF status.
  5. good deal for the both sides....... Hopefully he decides to become a freeagent.
  6. I agree that the teams record should not be taken into consideration... but unfortunately it sometimes is.
  7. Izzy has sucked this year...he has not chance... Big Z on the other hand has a great chance of winning it. But prolly wont because of the Cubs record
  8. I would like to see him end the year with 59 IP and a 7.17 ERA. But if he's going to pitch, I hope he gets hammered and wouldn't mind seeing a 10+ ERA. I know this wont happen.. but I would like to see Hendry admit to the mistake of resigning Rusch... and DFA him
  9. Personally the only way I trade ARam is if I get a ML ready 3rd baseman in return who can hit 30+homers and get 100+rbi
  10. I see what your saying now. You would only do this trade now... and not necissarily in the offseason.
  11. Since June or maybe even May... he is a crappy hitter yes...... but overall I think he still has a lot of potential.. keep in mind its still his first FULL year in the bigs.
  12. I dont think ARam could handle NYC.
  13. thats a typical Dust Bag excuse.
  14. There's no 'i' in sarcasm. sorry.. but who cares...not everyone can spell. Cedeno is not a terrible hitter...but he does have a lot to learn. And I do agree that Baker needs to chew him out on pitch selection.
  15. He does need to go. You dont bring Weurtz in in the 7th inning with the bases loaded. That is Eyre's spot. Also, why the hell has Walker not played since his two error game? I thought he was not being punished??? oh and they called Theriot up yesterday with the injury to Lee and he was not in the starting lineup..... WHY FRIGGEN NOT?
  16. umm... who would our closer be then??? Howry, a better pitcher than Dempster. Howry is not a closer.... you would be setting him up to fail.. just like you did with Latoya Hawkins
  17. umm... who would our closer be then???
  18. Which Corey Patterson? The one from 2003, the one from 2004 and this year, or the one from 2005? I think you're right if you choose 2004 and this year, but I'm just curious to which Patterson you were referring to. because i know CubBullsBears. I can say that I am pretty sure he means the KP from 2005 Well, I won't be completely sure until I hear that from him, but if that's true, they are nothing alike, including Pierre having 70 points higher OBP. your absolutly correct..... no doubt about it. Pierre is much better than the KP from 2005.
  19. It would be nice to get Tejada or A-Rod. We would prolly have to give up ARam to get either of those two. If its A-rod that would be fine... because hes playing third right now... if its Tejada move him or Cedeno to third. The Orioles already have Mora, I am not sure ARam is a fit for them ARam to Baltimore for Tejada would be a pointless trade for the Cubs. Actually, probably worse than pointless as Tejada will decline sooner. the O's aren't doing much better than the Cubs are... why would it matter to Miggy? I'm confused by your response dvdd127. He's saying that it would be pointless for the Orioles to move Tejada for Aram since they don't need a third baseman. When he mentioned that "Tejada will decline sooner". He was saying that it is not exactly smart from a Cubs' perspective because it is more likely Tejada will decline(performance wise) because he is getting a bit older now. oh ok... i missunderstood his post... I though maybe Miggy had a NTC and he was saying Miggy would not wave it to come to the Cubs.
  20. Why all the negotivity? Although I do agree he came back too soon and should now be shut down for the season I do not think his wrist is messed up forever. With this injury it will take Nevin off the trade block because he has been hitting .280 in July.. and Murton has been hitting .350+ in July so he will play in left.
