  1. Hendry wont be let go anyways.. he just singed an extension that keeps him here through the 2008 season. And he did say that it was not Bakers fault but rather his for not giving Baker the right personel to play on a day to day basis. I will see if I can find the news article. About the firesale... can I ask for some names you would be willing to trade?????
  2. Here is what I want to see happen I want to see them shut Prior down for the rest of the year.. and then call up Hill or Guzman then I want them to trade Williamson for some minor league prostpects and call up Hill. Then have a 6 man rotation the rest of the season: Zambrano Maddux Marmol Marshal Prior Hill/Guzman (give each one every other 6th start and use them in the bull pen in between starts) or even better stick to a 5 man rotation and go with this: Zambrano Maddux Marmol Marshal Prior/Hill/Guzman (give each one every third start and use them in the bull pen in between starts)
  3. Fireing Hendry isnt the answer.. he is the only one willing to take blame.. I dont hear Baker taking any blame for making mangarial mistakes.. and I dont think a firesale is the answer either.
  4. I want to see Marshall do well.. and then have the team lose after he is take out.
  5. I agree there... the should plan with him pencled in as the 6th starter.. and if he is healthy bump him up to 5th starter and put one of the youngsters in the pen as a long reliever.
  6. no need to dwell on the past..and personally I think Wood was ruined before he got to the majors because of his back issues he had as a kid.. as for Prior.. as I said in the other thread... I think he will return to form next year.
  7. I disagree about Prior.. I think he will be back next year.. and be able to contribute in a big way
  8. He has a career .197 OBP. If that still becomes .260 to .300 (A big if anways) thats no good, at all. Even if his AVG could get up to .260 I wouldn't expect more than .300 OBP. That doesnt convert to starter numbers and he would need .450+ SLG to be a semi-useful bench player. And we don't know if he can even reach those numbers. He may still become a decent starter. If anything a reliever, but no way he becomes a position player. sorry that was my mistake..... I miss read the chart. with that said... the need to either Cut Kid K or Convert him to a reliever
  9. Dude if you would have been here in 03 you would have thought oh its ok Mark has perfect mechanics, he won't hurt his arm from overuse. Dude, I am a life long Cubs fan... who is 18 years old.. I was here in '03... and I blame that colapse on Alex Gonzolaz, who is retired by the way, and Busty Baker.
  10. I want the old Mark Prior back. Also, anyone know why Eyre had to be taken out with back pain today???? It is because Baker uses the right guys in the wrong situations.. Example, using Eyre in the game against the Brewers on July 6th when the Cubs were already losing 2-0.
  11. I dont really watch the pre or post game stuff... and I dont watch or read the news... so I did not realize that Z had said that. With that in mind, DUSTY REALLY NEEDS TO GET EJECTED FROM THE DUGOUT ON THE NORTH SIDE before he ruins Marshall and Marmol too.
  12. Kerry has a career .197 avg... the key is that is as a pitcher. I think if he were a position player it would be somewhere between .260 and .300 thats good enough to be a starting player. Maybe my train of thought is incorrect tho.. I am not sure
  13. ha ha... i usually dont stat the obvious.. but felt the need to here..sorry
  14. Dude. There are guys who can throw complete games every fifth day and not throw out their arm.... and personally I think that Z is one of those guys.
  15. I am willing to go out on a limb and say he is in pain. and the reason i say to shut him down is because then he can come to spring training next year ready to prove himself. as for Wood. He would have to get work down in the minor leagues to become a reliever... so we should send him on a rehab assignment for the rest of the year... and resign him to a lower priced deal and give him a chance as a reliever.
  16. For the most part the Cubs whole pitching staff needs to cut back on the walks.. and the offence needs to get more walks. LOL
  17. He's not, but you also don't want to see it become a situation where that concept of forging on even through pain/exhaustion becomes a detriment to him. hu??
  18. 1)Shut Prior down for the season and give him one more chance in '07. 2)Shut DLee down for the rest of the year so he can come back next year and be 100% 3)Do something with Kid K. a)Cut Him b)Convert him to a reliever c)Convert him to a 3rd baseman or outfielder
  19. With Big Z I dont worry about the walks as much as I worry about the pitch counts... and I dont really worry much about the pitch counts either.. and Zambrano is not a cry baby about a little bit of pain like Prior is.
  20. I think this is all just a plea by Maddux to get himself traded... I have a weird hunch that is how it will all turn out. God Damit.. and I like him in Cubbie Blue too.
  21. Is there any real validity to his "helping the youngsters out." I'd have preferred if he helped the team more by not sucking since the beginning of May. One pitcher can not carry a team..even if he hat 12 or 13 wins right now we would still be at least 10 games under .500
  22. I dont want to see him go.. he is helping the youngsters out. but what I want doesnt matter.. and I know that.
  23. Is it possible that I can get the "bad day" one??? I would like to use parts of it in a video I have making.
