  1. Baker started Theriot Thursday at Milwaukee. The kid went 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and sat the next day. sorry... your right.. my mistake. I just forgot.
  2. actually.. i think the cubs have a future too.. one that doesnt include Prior, Baker, or any of the Coaching staff. The reason Wood is not in that list is because he wants to become a reliever... and I think it would be great if he could stay a Cub and help in the bullpen.
  3. Thing is they are playing another kid (Pagan) over him. So IRDC about that.... what I care about is the fact that they have yet to start Theriot since his most recent recall.
  4. from this thread is what made me start this thread. if that's the thread you are commenting on' date=' then put your post in that thread.[/quote']that was just one example... it was the most recent one that I could find. there have been many posts that i have seen over the last few days that have made me think.. 'Cant ppl make up their mind?' and as for that particular post.. it was hard for me to tell what the 'Good Riddance' was referring too. thats why i used it as an example for why i started this thread.
  5. i agree with you.. thats why that post from the other thread didnt make sence to me.
  6. this post from this thread is what made me start this thread.
  7. Only a few weeks ago everyone was saying LET THE KIDS PLAY.... Now the Cubs are being forced to give the kids a chance in the rotation...... and everyone is crying that the rotation is so bad.. you guys make no sence to me. make up your mind about what you want.
  8. yes.. marshall will most likely be back..which means someone will have to be sent down.
  9. Im rooting for the Dodgers. Not cause of Maddux, even though I like him, but because of Nomar. Also, personally I think Maddux is not ready to retire so therefore him in the playoffs this year would not mean a thing to him ending his career on a high note.
  10. Quite honestly..the Cubs are the only possible team because of money. But I dont think they will get him because ATL now knows he wants to stay there. They may have put him on waivers to see what his response would be and now that they know what his response is so they wont move him.
  11. Think about it. We can resign Pierre and then sign Jones to play left. Then 2/3s of our outfield would be made up of Jones's lol.. and we would have a power hitting outfield... and have Murton on the bench.
  12. umm.. I was comparing Izturis to Furcal... and Walker to Cedeno... someone else compared Izturis to Cedeno and I commented on it.
  13. Just please watch the language (and we can all take a hint from the thread title). i will, and i am sorry. i think a lot of us are
  14. He's a FA after the season, as memory serves me. Given that the Dodgers were able to acquire him, he definitely was available. Also, now that I think about it, I find it rather funny the D-Rays went out and picked up another terrific hitter & athlete who has trouble playing SS and has no real position right now. I'm sure BJ Upton was thrilled with this deal. Lugo, available? yes. But I dont feel that the Cubs wanted him. For whatever reason that beats me... but I just dont think they wanted him.
  15. sorry my eyes were failing me I thought that said TG.
  16. yes... realistically available names. As for Lugo I dont consider him a realistic option... because there was never a reliable rumor that had him coming to the Cubs.
  17. Are we talking about possible names on the market prior to the trade deadline or overall in baseball? well.. both..I am trying to be realistic. There was no chance that the O's would have even talked to the Cubs about Tejada. And overall in baseball..... well as I said... I would rather have Mr. Furcal but that wont happen any time soon.
  18. There are not any other "kids" who are ready for the Bigs yet.... Williams as sucked at AAA Guzman has not been doing too well. and the Ryu guy has sucked too as far as i know. Who else is there that we saw in Sping Training???? no one. and theres not anyone who we didnt see in Spring Training that is blowing the minor leagues away.. so therefore there are no other kids to call up.
  19. why are you taking personal shots at me again? ummm.. whats that supposed to mean? Abracadabra!! ::there ya go:: I agree with TC. But we really need that OF offensive aquisitions this offseason now. And a SP. why are you guys taking personal shots at me.......... thats not very nice.
  20. stop being an A** because I am sure if you were making that kind of money and were a member of a struggling team... weather it be the Cubs or even the Royals... you would want to help them turn it around, just as these two said they wanted to do. Hey man, I'm on your side about Cedeno and Izturis. But this ain't the cubs.com. You can't post like that here. . your right... i dont post on cubs.com..but i know what you mean.sorry. honestly tho. you cant say what i said is wrong
  21. Tejada And "light-hitting" Walker? If you think Walker/Cedeno was light-hitting, wait until you see Cedeno/Izturis. Dude. I didnt say Cedeno was light hitting.... Walker was tho... i mean he only has about 45 rbi and we are 100+ games into the season. There is no reason he shouldnt have at least 55 or 60 rbi. Cedeno is a kid and this is his first full season in the bigs... so I expected him to have a rough go of it. As for Tejada. I dont think he will go anywhere until his contract is up and he is 36. would I like to be wrong on that thought??? You bet... I would love to see him roming at short or even 2nd or 3rd but I dont think he will be any time soon.
  22. I would do that in a minute... only if we have an established big league pitcher who does not SUCK to take Priors spot in the rotation.
  23. Dont get me wrong. I would rather have Furcal. But since that wont happen anytime soon... I would rather have Izturis over any other short stop you name. With the moves today its almost guarenteed that Cedeno will move to second. Simply because of his potential to be a big bat... I would rather have him at second than the light hitting Walker. What do you guys think?
  24. stop being an A** because I am sure if you were making that kind of money and were a member of a struggling team... weather it be the Cubs or even the Royals... you would want to help them turn it around, just as these two said they wanted to do.
  25. Walker and Maddux both had nothing but kind words to say about their (now) former team mates and the Cubs organization as a whole. I am not exactly 100% pleased with what has went down.. but I am happy for these two kind genlemen and wish them both the best.
