  1. Ugh. What happened to drafting BPA and not for need?
  2. Theres a difference between WGN local and WGN America now. You have WGN America, which no longer shows Cubs games.
  3. Oh no, we are outperforming our pythag! #pixiedust
  4. Pretty much. I think it is a little bit of both, personally. Different types of alcohol do have different effects, but people are quick to make excuses for their behavior, and the type of alcohol they happened to be drinking is an easy escape goat. Someone has a bad night where they make a fool of them self, and they say it's because they drank tequila. I have a friend who only drinks whiskey, but says that he absolutely cannot drink Irish whiskey. He says even one shot of Jameson will make him feel all [expletive] up, like his body just won't accept it. I'm pretty sure he just doesn't like the taste, and the rest is psychosomatic. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2x4ahyPyE1r5zuiho1_250.gif
  5. As someone who worked as a cook at White Horse, the original one closed in 2007/2008. Despite being fairly busy, the owner couldnt make the payments on the place (the rumor was he was spending a lot of the profits on cocaine or something), and had to close down. Someone else tried re-opening it as a drink only place, but that was short lived. Eventually, they moved over to John Street, and it is similar in name only. I loved that place (despite basically getting paid in food and drinks), met my wife there, and many of my friends today are people I worked with there. They had some of the best bar food on campus, and to this day Ill still occasionally make a White Horse grilled cheese sandwich (triple layer muenster/red onion, cheddar/tomato, cream cheese).
  6. Missing photo from the slideshow.
  7. I used to be good at picking brackets...what happened?
  8. [tweet]https://twitter.com/PabloOzuna38/status/708810169447268352[/tweet] Yes, the Cardinals always seem to be on the wrong side of the argument, but its their hypocritical nature that always gets me. They are the worst.
  9. Im thinking some time after game 50. But if you want a better answer than that, perhaps you should go ask your fellow fans over at GRB. "Some time after game 50"? That's quite the analysis, sir. Shame on me for thinking that a reply would speculate how many minor league innings or starts would be needed before serious consideration would be given for a promotion. I think it's time that you take over Ron Darlings slot on the MLB Network. Your knowledge and perspective clearly warrants it. I was just being cheeky...no need to get all "BFIB" on me.

  11. Not that its any surprise, but Correa told others in the Cardinals organization about the hacking. http://www.bleachernation.com/2016/01/25/convicted-cardinals-employee-told-colleagues-he-found-cardinals-info-on-astros-system/
  12. as the person who invented this idea* i demand you call it hybrid dh *maybe I really like this idea(if the ultimate endgame is DH) and don't think I've ever heard it before. Forgive my feeble mind, but does this mean that once you take your starting pitcher out, you lose the DH for the rest of the game?
  13. Damn. That's impressive. I used to work there and put away 13 once, but felt like I wanted to die afterwards. 1 through 11 went down very fast. 12-14 with a little effort, 15-17 were pretty tough but still manageable. 18-20 sucked. Those last 3 I would just sit there and chew each bite for like a minute before I could convince my body to swallow.
  14. I suppose this is the place where I get to brag about the time I ate 20 IHOP pancakes during one of the all you can eat specials...all smothered in butter and strawberry syrup. And waffles FTW.
  15. Pretty surprised by the amount of money he got. I feel like I remember talk this past season of potentially being able to give up nothing in a trade for him.
  16. I listen to sports talk radio on my commute to and from work, and I enjoy it in the afternoon with B&B and Waddle and Silvy, but I am just not a fan of Mully and Hanley (or Mike and Mike). Anyone got any good talk radio alternatives for a morning commute? I used to have a good one when I lived in Michigan, but so far everything in Chicago Ive heard is crap.
  17. No team is going to sign Shark to a one year deal due to the loss of a draft pick. Even from a team with a protected first round pick? One year of potential dominance from Shark is worth a second round pick in my mind. Plus if Shark pitches well in 2016 he would reject the qualifying offer and you would receive a pick back for the 2017 draft (if he wasn't re-signed). I guess I shouldnt say no team. I think Ervin Santana signed a 1 year deal after rejecting a QO, as did Nelson Cruz, so there is some precedent.

  19. I think he was just channeling HCCF to point out that theyve only played 2 games against the best teams in the West.
  20. I suppose it was too much to ask him to pimp that HR out more, but yes, he is awesome. On a related note, FS1 just showed a ball tracker of the HR...I dont know what system they are using, but you could clearly see where the ball landed, and the green line was not even close. Is some person just entering that [expletive] manually?
  21. I may be an anomaly, but even when I was a little kid, if I did not get at least 8 hours of good sleep, I was a zombie. Having a kid is testing that, but most nights I still manage to get about 8 hours, and if I dont I just feel like [expletive] the next day.
  22. Even though the first half was Jake's "bad" half, he still bested Wacha in every single statistic except for Win-Loss percentage.
  23. And to add to that, I am 100% against throwing at people and [expletive] of that nature in baseball, but in this one instance, I would make an exception for a cleats up slide right into Utleys knee.
  24. Bottom line, none of that touched the base crap even matters. As soon as that play happened, this rule is what came to mind, and the Mets should have been out of the inning. There is zero argument against this, and if MLB does anything but come out and say that they messed up and both runners should have been called out, it is a [expletive] disgrace.
