  1. wha? He is proven. Proven he is outmatched by major league pitching so far. HEY-OOOOOO
  2. What the heck was he doing chasing down fly balls in the outfield in the first place?
  3. Zambrano: What's this? Hill: It's The Mental ABC's of Pitching. I think it could really help you and your struggles. Zambrano: /takes book, breaks it over knee
  4. Hate is such a powerful word when it's regarding someone so relatively meaningless as Adam LaRoche
  5. I hope the Yankee offense craps out on him when he pitches like the Astros did last year. He steals headlines for doing nothing. When there are amazing things happening in baseball, he steals the headlines by showing up at a baseball game. He steals them by saying "I'm not sure yet". He steals them by saying "I'm going to decide by the end of may". That isn't news. He knew damn well he was going to play. He's selfish and extremely self-centered. I'd hate to have a guy on my team who doesn't have to travel on the road with us and gets special treatment just because he's a legend. Sure, he'll be going to the HOF real easy and his talent is astounding, but it's ridiculous how much the media fluffs this guy. Also, no pitcher on God's green earth is worth that much. I really hope for impending doom on the Yankees organization and Roger Clemens.
  6. Likewise. I think Kendrick ends up with better AVG/OBP, while Kinsler ends up with better production value in the HR/RBI department. I think they will each have anywhere between 15-25SB. It's a wash. I actually had to drop Kendrick from my team to pick up Ian Snell. If only I could see into the future and see that Tulowitzki was going to suck so bad I would've swapped him out instead of Kendrick
  7. I have him in one of my leagues as well. I had to pick up Khalil Green to pick up his slack. And Khalil Green usually can't pick up his own slack
  8. And I suppose when the Reds start struggling a lot sports writers can say "They'll start winning again once Josh Hamilton stops smoking crack and shooting heroin in the clubhouse bathroom" and it's all cool. My point is it happened in the past, and of all the jabs he could've taken at the Phillies (Ryan Howard not hitting at all, Charlie Manuel losing his cool) he brings up someones past personal flaw? Sure, Myers is a douche bag, but the jab at him hitting his wife is hardly a way to get the point across that the Phillies are going to turn it around in May. He could've used a different joke, is all I'm saying
  9. Durham is old and I don't buy his big year last year as the norm, not in the slightest. Atkins is off to a very slow start, I'm sure he'll come around. Figgins will still steal like 40-50 bases. Theriot is not an every day player, but he's Ryan Theriot and seems to perform well every chance he gets. I don't know. if Atkins were guaranteed to perform like he did last year I'd do it in a heartbeat, but he hasn't really done jack. I'd probably do it, but I'd ask for someone other than Ray freaking Durham. Who else does he have and who do you have?
  10. Al Reyes has been outstanding this year
  11. From ESPN's Page 2, Link And I understand that Page 2 is supposed to be somewhat humorous, but I thought this line about Bret Myers was kinda out of line, and I enjoy controversial humor: That's just not very classy, IMO.
  12. Yeah, not cool Derosa. Not cool at all. Not trying to step on toes here, but it kinda sounds like it to me
  13. Is he? His gamelog suggest he hasn't put together a 3 piece puzzle in the last month. He hasn't even reached the mendoza line yet. I drafted him in the last round of my draft and subsequently dropped him for Upton about half a month ago. I'm keeping an eye on him, but when would everyone think would be a good time to pull the trigger and pick him up? When he boosts his average up to .250? Hits 5HR?
  14. GET UPTON! Dudes' ranked 6th best player on Yahoo! He's hitting the snot out of the ball, and he steals bags. At his current pace he'll be a 20-20 guy easy. Would you rather have Alex Gordon (who I drafted, and was disappointed with) who is hitting .173 2HR 5RBI 1SB and wait for him to come around Or would you rather have Upton who is hitting .365 5HR 20RBI 5SB and his hitting the crap out of the ball? Not to mention Upton has 3B and 2B eligibility. Pick up Upton before someone else does
  15. They are really doing quite horrible. They totally need a good hitting outfielder like Jacque Jones, and they totally need to give us that crappy pitcher Gaudin in return. :)
  16. Maybe I'm the a-hole, but I'd call you dumb for not doing that deal. Soriano is not doing well. Carp is still on the DL. Meanwhile you'd be getting: Giambi who is doing very well Upton who is doing very well Nathan who is doing very well And Zito who is doing, for the most part, well over his last few starts Am I the only one who thinks this is a no brainer?
  17. Let me regail you non Insider subscribers with his full answer (mods feel free to block it if you want) And I said "Oh hush" becuase not liking a player for voicing his opinion on a subject is dumb. If DeRosa came out and said "Pedophilia should be legal", then yeah, hunt him down and crucify him. But if him, or any player says they think the NL should have a DH don't act like you're disowning him just because he has an opinion like everyone else in this world
  18. the benny hill theme song
  19. You could get a realy good SP or closer like he said. FWIW, here are the Pecota projections for Lee and Gonzales Lee: .288AVG 96R 28HR 87RBI 18SB .369OBP .527SLG Gonzalez: .289AVG 77R 22HR 86RBI 0SB .355OBP .481SLG I think Gonzalez is going to break that projection easily, but I think Lee is going to break his projection as far as AVG is concerned as well, which means he'll have a higher OBP. They could end up putting up similar offensive numbers, but I'd bank on Lee over Gonzalez solely because he's been much more proven. I think even if you trade Lee, you'll still do a-ok regardless
  20. I'd hate to use the tired old clichéd phrase "Rome wasn't built in a day", but I just did, because it makes a whole lot of sense regarding this issue. It's like if someone comes up to me and says "You gotta stop drinking beer." That just won't happen any time soon, and will take a long time to get used to
  21. I hope his arm doesn't hurt enough to sign the baseball card I'm supposed to get..... http://www.haloangel.net/damnyouprior.gif The sad part is he's not listed in the price guides...... and I don'tr even know if I'd consider him a semi-star price anymore... he may just be a lowly common :( I'll sell it for $25 when I get it, any takers? :) In all seriousness though, I like the article, there may be hope for the fella yet
  22. it's early... yeah, but I had expected him to do this well thus far. :) And Zach Duke... well, Zach Duke hasn't really been the rookie Zach Duke since he was the rookie Zach Duke
  23. I got Cards/Cubs. My brother back in Tampa got Yankees/Red Sox. As if the world needs to watch another Yankees/Red Sox game.
  24. So did you vote yes or no? The question wasn't "Are you taking action against man made global warming?"...it was do you believe it's a problem? I voted no
