  1. TAMU beat Okie State and has five losses ... then Kansas had to survive against them MSU beat PSU and has five losses ... then Ohio State had to survive against them Vandy beat SC and has six losses ... then they keep it close UGA, Tenn and Kentucky It's pretty darn close.
  2. the SEC is a joke and will be exposed in bowl games. the only thing they have going for them is a fan base of people with no lives and and thus are able to continually spew junk about how great they are the computers? if thats all you got youre barking up the wrong tree
  3. alabama lost to UL-Monroe and tennessee barely beat vandy at home... looks like the sec sucks sweet fake FG by that tricky JoePa... PSU up 24-7 over moo FLorida rules blah blah blah blah, Lil ten sucks blah blah blah Tim Tebow blah blah blah, bunch of numbers I made up, blah blah blah. Mature response. Regardless, you picked a really, really bad week to spew Big 10 hatred. SEC is not exactly having a great week with the loss by Bama and the escape of Tennessee in pure-luck fashion over Vandy. See above regarding Tennessee. Bama's stunk. Is it all that worse than losing to directional michigan? not really. I don't hate the Big Ten. There's no reason for me to hate them. I just say what they are: A weak conference. That said it's cyclical and they'll be fine in the future. I've been saying the same thing about the Big Ten since August. By your logic then, Iowa = Bama, and that's ridiculous and you know it. Not really. I didn't say it was a "better" loss. It's not that big of a difference though. The SEC is still the best conference by a significant amount and there shouldn't be any doubt there. You're kidding yourself if you think another conference is better.
  4. So the reason they make a bowl and Vandy doesn't: They play in the Big Ten. You're not helping your case

  6. iowa lost to directional michigan and penn state lost to michigan state... looks like the big ten sucks. And yes Vanderbilt ~ Michigan State ~ Texas A&M You can keep pretending that the Commodores are a bad team if you want to.

  8. alabama lost to UL-Monroe and tennessee barely beat vandy at home... looks like the sec sucks sweet fake FG by that tricky JoePa... PSU up 24-7 over moo not really but whatever makes you sleep better. the sec doesnt need to be defended. the complete dominance of their conference in the computers speaks for themselves.
  9. yep now lsu should pray for a tennessee loss to kentucky
  10. just like the 2004 title game, right? just like we were supposed to watch OSU demolish UF last year. We won't beat LSU if we play them. Well, I say that based on Bradford's road performances this year (terrible). If he plays well in Lubbock tonight, I might amend that statement. theyd have a chance. hed be facing the toughest defense he has all season long. i dont really understand how jadee gets to that conclusion. Even if you think the SEC is overrated they still would have wins over arkansas, georgia, florida, virginia tech, and alabama. theyve certainly proved that theyre worthy of being in the NC and wont get blown out. Keep in mind their one less was a triple OT loss and theyve played a top ten schedule. it's ludicrous to think this team would get blown out by another team.

  12. It's not that delusional. A Hawaii loss is the big obstacle now. There's other obstacles besides that. First, Illinois has to climb 5 spots to even be considered. Even if they do climb the 5 spots, how are they going to get picked over the other teams in the top 14? There are a lot of traditional national powerhouses up there. I don't see any way that Illinois gets picked over teams such as USC, Florida, Texas, WV (if they lose to UConn), LSU (if they lose to Georgia in the SEC title game), or the 2 losers of the Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma triad. There's simply no way that Illinois even gets close to making a BCS game unless tons of teams start losing in their last game. Each conference can only get two teams. So that means it can be LSU + UF/Georgia, 2 of OU, Kansas, Missouri, USC + Oregon/ASU. ACC and BE champs get in. Of course OSU Texas has no chance of getting in.

  14. move over tim tebow you werent the leading qb rusher on the gators today cameron newton <3 hes essentially a tebow clone.
  15. What did we learn this week? The Big Ten isn't very good.
  16. There. There are 12 minutes left in the game and Tim Tebow is pulled from the game. So much for the "running up the stats" argument. Besides Tim Tebow 2.0 is in the game.
  17. and now it is 52-20 with about twelve minutes left to play.
  18. yes, he's represented by Barry Praver now I think the only Boras client the Cubs have is Pawelek Eric Patterson
  19. I thought it was obvious. The Gators are up 35-20 at half time and have had no problem scoring touchdowns through the air. Their problem has been stopping FAU from scoring, through the air as usual.
  20. The Gators aren't running up the score, that's all. When they win big you guys complain and when they're winning small you guys complain...
  21. Corey is what we call a winner around here. He's from Georgia. Do you know what that means? That means the Atlanta Braves are automatically sold on him. If the Braves are sold on a player, he's a certified winner. Just look at all of the consecutive division titles the Braves won. It's no secret why: Players from Georgia. Georgia stopped Tim Tebow. No one stops Tim Tebow. Don't listen to the rubbish about batting average, on base percentage and slugging percentage. They're evil statistics created by Scott Boras to squeeze out millions of dollars from owners struggling to make ends meet. Did Yogi Berra walk a lot? Did Joe DiMaggio walk a lot? Did Bill Dickey walk a lot? Did Phil Rizzuto walk a lot? Did Frankie Crosetti walk a lot? The answer to all of five of those questions is no. What do they have in common? They're all winners and nobody has more rings than those players. It may be to early to prove, but I can certainly say that there appears to be correlation between not walking and winning. Look at the Oakland A's and Toronto Blue Jays. What the hell of they won lately? There are just two given things in baseball and they can always be counted on happening: Derek Jeter will get clutch hits and Billy Beane's Oakland A's will get their asses kicked in the playoffs. Did the Marlins win because of walks? No. Did the Angels win because of walks? No. Did the Cardinals win because of walks? No. Did the Red Sox win because of walks? No. Did the Diamondbacks win because of walks? No. Did the White Sox win because of walks? No....even more evidence to backup the proposition that walks are conducive to winning. Batting average? Come on we know batting average is a terrible way to gauge performance. Corey Patterson is what we like to call a professional quality out machine. No one in baseball hits into the 4-3 ground out that moves the runner from second to third as well as Corey Patterson. No one in baseball protects a potential base stealer by swinging through pitches like Corey Patterson. What do these things hurt? Corey Patterson's batting average. Corey, however, is undeterred by this because he is a winner. Slugging percentage itself can be misleading. Slugging percentage says singles are bad. When you hit doubles you can't put pressure on the defense by having the threat of a stolen base. For a speedster like Patterson singles are better than doubles and triples. They're even more acceptable than home runs when you are down my more than a couple of runs because the added pressure of him being on base greatly increases the chances the pitcher makes a mistake to hitters lower in the order, resulting in Earl Weaver's crooked numbers and three run home runs. Earl Weaver would support this aspect of Corey Patterson. Who is to argue with Earl Weaver? What is Earl Weaver? A winner. The writings on the wall. Corey Patterson has the support of the Atlanta Braves, Earl Weaver and the mid 1900s Yankees. That's about 15 rings. Corey Patterson is a winner. Why did the Cubs lose in 2003 to the Marlins? Because Corey Patterson's defense wasn't in the outfield. He's a winner. He's like Derek Jeter. When he's on the field other players are better because of him. Moises Alou would have had a rocket up his ass. Alex Gonzalez would have had stick 'em in his glove. These things don't show up in his stat line. Where do they show up? The fact he's a winner. There you go..Corey Patterson = Winner. A team of winners would win. A team of losers (Cubs) will lose. It's not rocket science, it's common sense.

  23. Our favorite centerfielder is a free agent this season. He's coming off a great season where he set career marks in isolated power, pitches per plate appearance, home runs per PA and came close to setting a career mark in walks per pa. Why can't we just admit it, we all want Corey Patterson patrolling centerfield again. I know I do.
  24. UCLA's gotta be the favorite. My respect for Dixon went through the roof though. Gutty.
  25. Dixon's out for the year, no surprise. Torn CPL (Corey Patterson Ligament). Apparently he actually tore it in the Arizona State game. He wanted to try to play through it and delay the surgery. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/ncaa/11/16/dixon.oregon.ap/index.html Mad props to him for that. Now the rest of the league is eating roasted duck.
