  1. What sucks is when Daniel throws for four touchdowns against a piece of crap Kansas team, everyone's going to go OMG HEISMAN like they did with Ryan w/ BC earlier. I swear every writer is a dumbass in this country.
  2. Marty Marion had a .251 EqA one season and won the MVP
  3. dont worry i had number two.
  4. depends on who the pitcher is. theres little reason to believe that wood wont be healthy as long as hes not starting.
  5. I would like to think Donaldson is advanced enough for the FSL. Make or break it year for Ryan Harvey.
  6. http://youtube.com/watch?v=wPBcai14hlw Clean up those mechanics and you've got one hell of a pitcher. He's been clocked as high as 98. The 154 kph pitch in the first video is about 96, for those of you who don't know that KPH to MPH factor off the top of their head like me ;) Satoh would have been in last years draft class and he certainly looks every bit as talented as any pitcher that went in the first round. Mechanics need work though. He's big lean and strong. Pretty projectable for a Japanese pitcher. With Sato, Saito, Darvish and Tanaka Japan has four quality young pitchers 20 and under who have the potential to front major league staffs. Darvish turned 21 this year though. Darvish and Tanaka have been phenomenal as 20 and 18 year olds against what is AAA or AAAA competition!
  7. I think he wanted to.
  8. Sounds good to me. Florida can't seem to beat them. Tommy Tuberville is a God in big games.
  9. Former. The graphs suck, I know. Luckily in the final version someone else is doing the graphs. I'm a LaTex n00b. I couldn't get it to work well. I would assume that the consistency is because that it's a lot harder, statistically, for a good pitching team to go on a prolonged losing streak that causes variability. Think of a the probability of rolling a die and getting a six. What's the probability of getting a 6 on one roll? 1/6. Does that mean that you will get a 6 at least once on six roles? No. In fact there is still a 1/3 chance of you not getting a six at all. I think it's the same thing here because for these teams giving up runs is such a low probability event compared to the rest of the leagues.
  10. I just can't imagine Woody in another uniform. By the end of 2004 I could imagine Sosa in another uniform....but not Woody. It's like seeing Ryne Sandberg in a Yankees uniform or something. Just not possible. I will go through massive withdrawals if he's not resigned.
  11. lame, new link. http://www.sendspace.com/file/8l479p
  12. I am not Bruce, but trying to understand Hendry's thought process is beyond the realm of anyone's.
  13. The Big East has been legit the last two seasons. #3 2007 #2 2006
  14. have you seen any videos on sato? the guy's stuff is insane.
  15. Is the report true Bruce that Hendry wants Matsui to be the full-time starter at second and move DeRosa to a utility player? Does he want either one of them to be the SS? Neither one for SS. Probably split time at second between Matsui and DeRosa and have DeRosa fill in at third and right when needed. I'm ready for another fun filled season of bashing my head on the wall when Matsui steals abs from a clearly better player in DeRosa.
  16. The Astros would suck in 2008 with or without Ed Wade. Even Billy Beane couldn't turn around that organization overnight.

  19. Better than being some nobody moderator on some Podunk-Internet site!
  20. Vancey, apparently, did not. http://www.sendspace.com/file/8l479p
  21. further proof america is full of raging dumbasses
  22. My question. I thought Sato was going to Hawaii this year, guess not.
  23. I'd definitely say Pittsburgh 2004 was more unqualified. Maybe slightly better wins for that Pittsburgh team (although they didn't have any great wins) but Pittsburgh was also 8-3 and had to go to OT to beat Furman that year. Including the Utah bowl game, Pitt played the 66th hardest schedule in the nation and still had 4 losses! Plus a couple statistics that I know you value, they won 4 of their games by only a field goal and a 5th game by only 5. Plus, their Sagarin far right rating was 75th after the bowl game. 75th in the predictor and still in the BCS! Florida State in 2005 was also more unqualified than this year's Kansas though they weren't as bad as 04 Pittsburgh. to be fair, those teams won their conferences: Kansas won't.
  24. This is true.
  25. Who would you trust? Meph or Carol Sleazy Slezak? Edit: Now that I read the article. It was Orestes Destrade. Destrade is Cuban, thus he was not brought up with the knowledge of base on balls so he can't objectively compare Fukudome's skillset to Jones'. He learned that you can't "walk" off the island like many Cubans and Dominican players before him -- which is true for a certain extent. In the short term it's good for them to be hacktastic (ML scouts dont sign players because they can walk) but in the longterm it hurts their development (bc walking is good)
