  1. That's mostly it, but at least one of the "incidents" last season happened when a family member heard something on the broadcast and got back to the player after the game.
  2. Is a longshot at a division title with a .500 record and getting swept in the divisional series worth risking Bonds' health for next season? Then again, who am I to stop them? Long shot at the division title? I disagree. They're 5 back with about 10 games against the Padres upcoming (plus games against the pathetic Rockies and Dodgers). I think Barry wants to show he can still productive if he's going to the Angels or Yankees as a DH next year. Something very fishy about all of this - apparently two weeks ago, the Giants had said there was no way he'd be back this year. The Padres' schedule isn't exactly a month worth of matchups against the NL East, either. They play the Rockies 7 times, the Dodgers 6 times, and the Diamondbacks 3 times. But just regarding Bonds' value, it seems like a risky move. If he doesn't do that well, he all of the sudden has a "declining skills" tag to go along with his questionable health.

  4. Just as important is what happens to the rest of the coaching staff. It'll be really interesting to see how Hendry responds to the Patterson fiasco (move Patterson, get rid of Sarge/Clines as their hitting coaches, or both) and what he does with instructors like Sonny Jackson and possibly even Rothschild. Would Hendry want to bring in his own guys or will he let Dusty pick? And if it's Hendry's call, how upset will that make Dusty? We'll see. As upset as I'll be if Dusty returns in 2006, I am really not going to be happy if the coaching staff stays intact.
  5. It may not have been a great year for Harvey and he may have been batting behind the OBPs of Fuld and Patterson, but it was still a good year for him. His SLG % is certainly encouraging. By the way, Berg had 1 strikeout.
  6. And congrats, Ryan. He just collected his 100th RBI of the season!
  7. Guzman gives up 2 more hits in the 3rd but no runs. His final line: 3 IP, 6 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks, 4 strikeouts, 1 HR
  8. A flyout to center and Guzman navigates a scoreless second.
  9. Another very nice start by Ryu: 7 IP, 7 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 6 strikeouts, 1 HR
  10. Anderson Tavares is making his first start with Iowa today. 1 run in 3 IP so far.
  11. Welcome to our forum, Mr. Kasper. I think I can speak for most people on here when I say that we enjoy what you bring to the booth and look forward to listening to you for many years to come.
  12. I went back to the archived Boise game and watched an inning of Pawelek. Looked like he had a nice fastballs, nice big curve ball (11-5, I suppose), and a pretty decent change that dove a little down and in to the right-handed batter.
  13. About time that game ended! Bacon with an impressive first to third on a groundout right before that.
  14. Leicester with a strong start so far for Iowa (although it is post-September callups). 6 IP, 6 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 6 Ks. Marmol is doing one better, though. 6 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 walks, 11 Ks. They're scoreless in Jackson, but they have 2 on with nobody out after a surprising Sing walk. They're also scoreless in Peoria.
  15. Nice going, Gallagher. Thanks, Bo:
  16. We wish you the best, Coach.
  17. Oh, well... Good job, Chris!
  18. Rough night all around for Peoria all around. 10-1 the score right now. Iowa hanging onto a 5-4 lead. Pawelek's line so far: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K
  19. Thanks. That would be great if it's not too much trouble. I'm sure others around here would like them, as well.
  20. Yes, but I don't have the bandwidth to watch it while listening to the Jaxx game.
  21. When you spend WAY too much time messing around with it, you can improve quite a bit.

  23. I second that!
  24. http://www.jonmdavis.net/ericpatterson.jpg Congratulations to Eric. Even if he reports to Daytona next April, the fans in West Tennessee won't have to wait long to see him again.
