  1. I paid nothing for that, I swear.
  2. That would be Jon. :thumleft: You tell him, Tim.
  3. Congratulations, Eric! He was presented with a plaque earlier today. Here's the picture that was on it: http://www.jonmdavis.net/ericpatterson.jpg
  4. How is Reyes feeling, by the way?
  5. But only a tad recently. It seems fine now.
  6. Rock music instead of Chip Caray? Highly unconventional. Here's the clip fo the walkup RBI. I don't have space for the others, though.
  7. If any of our illustrious NSBB scouting types are watching this, please give a report on how he looked, what pitches he threw, and so on. :) I'll be watching while listening to the Jaxx game... but if any of the illustrious NSBB scouting types are going to watch, please give a report on how he looked, what pitches he threw, and so on.

  9. Mitre, Hill, and Soto were supposed to be the first three, I believe.
  10. Even if he wouldn't be any good in the pros, I'd still pay to watch him. Heck, I'd pay to watch him run in a race.
  11. http://chicago.fire.mlsnet.com/images/2005/09/01/IXUs7QQc.jpg CBS-2 Chicago had some video of Carlos kicking a ball around and then making a nice header during the game. Not only did he look great in a soccer uniform, he clearly has skills.
  12. Congrats, Brandon!
  13. I'm going to write angry letters to whoever wrote the article implying that he throws a slider. I've got my credibility to consider.
  14. The whole point was that he was getting very different instruction at AAA than he was with Clines/Sarge/Sonny/etc. The coaching staff with the big league club may have spent a lot of time with him, but they really only tried one thing and the attempting to salvage some of it after finally realizing it wasn't working. Making a long overdue switch at hitting coach(es) could help the whole team, but especially Corey. But I don't know if winter ball is really going to help him. What he does there isn't really going to prove anything to the Cubs. Dusty keeps talking about how he has confidence and then says that he doesn't have confidence. He doesn't express much emotion either way, which is a pretty good thing with the treatment he's getting at Wrigley. If he goes elsewhere, it'll take the right coaching staff who doesn't view him as a leadoff hitter to correct things. But the attempted change this year really set back his plate discipline improvement. It'll have to be addressed one area at a time. I'm not sure which teams are going to be willing to go through that despite the upside. I highly doubt the Cubs are one of them.
  15. Those are some fine sources. I'd love to hear from Ron about Sing and his walks. I wonder how many are intentional unintentional walks because of his power or if he's up to his normal hijinks.
  16. I like JVB's changeup. He uses the same crazy motion as he does with his fastball. His curve is okay but his delivery allows the batters to see the ball before it even leaves his hand. So when he hangs it, opposing batters can easily watch it all the way to the plate. As for Williamson, he's not 100% yet and has a relatively cheap option for next season. I don't see any reason for Hendry not to pick it up.
  17. Nope. It's a final. Since it's at Daytona and the Cardinals already had 7 full innings worth of at bats, the three runs scored in the bottom of the inning win it.
  18. Mateo's line: 5 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, 9 strikeouts Phelps is in for relief, though, as Daytona is being shutout through 5. Moore committed his 28th error of the season (fielding) earlier.
  19. Downs with a very nice start. 5 IP, 3 hits, 1 run, 0 earned, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts
  20. Guzman is done after 60 pitches. An E6, an infield single on which Guzman failed to cover first, and an RBI double knock him out.
  21. Angel threw 27 pitches in that second inning but bounced back for a 1-2-3 third inning.
  22. A 2-out bloop single with a runner on second gives Beloit the early lead. It got by Fuld and the batter advanced to second. And it's costly. A single to right scores another run. The batter advances to second on the throwing error by Harvey, which sailed high at home.
  23. The volume is actually probably a little higher than normal for me. There was a brief hickup in the connection, but it sounds normal.
  24. Guzman threw just 6 pitches in the first. Three routine grounders retire the side.
