  1. Not sure if other people got the email, but it seems like a worth-while deal. Could take up to 2 months to get the first issue, but still. BA deal
  2. Hopefully they can at least start to turn it. Wednesday's game in Denver will be on WGN/ESPN2. Thursday's game against Sacramento will be on TNT.
  3. The Bears re-signed Lennie Friedman to a one-year/$600,000 deal and expect to sign John St. Clair to a three-year extension pretty soon.
  4. Some notes from Ron so far: Guzman and Pie won't be part of the Diamond Jaxx. Marmol will probably be back in the starting rotation (I emailed in a question about him as a possible closer which he'll hopefully get), Rojas will probably be the starting shortstop, Craig may be back, Spearman will probably be back, Weston will probably be back if he's a member of the Cubs, O'Toole may be there.
  5. Hey, Ron. What do you plan on talking about? Do you know if there's a way to email in questions? By the way, I picked up a Diamond Jaxx hat online. I plan on wearing it out here when I'm not in the mood to represent the parent club.
  6. The Morans are Maasai warriors who took stimulants to prevent fear and fatigue in battle. And besides, a Moran mascot might set a bad example for the children who attend minor league games.
  7. At least Mattingly's sideburns are safe.
  8. This was the article's explanation: That occurred with 9:23 left in regulation.
  9. Z wants to pitch the opener against the DR. Have the guts to make something of it, Johan? The game will be on ESPN.
  10. So in my short time watching the game, I've seen horrific officiating at crucial moments, nauseating commentary at just about every moment, and commercials I'd pay to have erased from my memory. Pretty much just what I expected, actually. It's just a shame about the officiating.
  11. and how has that been working out? Pretty well. Tolic may never have been healthy and Duvancic was only decent, but Vedran has been one of the better players in the program's history. And he's finally healthy this year. The system is well-suited for taller guys who can play outside and Baran is the third 6'8'' recruit to commit in the past few months.
  12. The Croatian "pipeline" continues for Northwestern. They received a verbal commitment from 6'8'' forward Nikola Baran, formerly a top player on the Croation under-18 team.
  13. But the game has turned very ugly for the Bulls fast. 18-6 run to open the third for the Suns.
  14. What a sweet inbounds alley-oop to Chandler right after Marion slammed one home.
  15. Ager 22-26 against Northwestern. Now he's 10-10 in Evanston. And Ager's first missed three-pointer is an airball.
  16. Cote with a pair of three-pointers and is 2-2 from the free throw line, I believe. Who knew that he could actually do that in a Northwestern uniform?
  17. Can't watch it, either. I believe Jenkins was fouled after a rebound, got bumped kinda hard, and the benches cleared. Pushing later on, too, so it should be a heated second half.
  18. What would a Northwestern/Michigan State game be without Ager being near-perfect? 21 of 25 beyond the arc against Northwestern and 9 for 9 in Welsh-Ryan Arena. Oh, and Michigan was destroyed by Iowa earlier.
  19. Perhaps, but I'm sure Jeb Bush wanting to hook up with him makes for a great conversation. Hope he saved the TM.
  20. It looks like he batted .263 in 57 regular season and post-season ABs with the Diamond Jaxx.
  21. But do those longtime diehard fans remain diehard fans of the team or do they back away when the World Series title comes? I personally don't see a championship changing my attachment to the team, for better or for worse.
  22. A possible violation and he didn't even push the kid to his favorite team.
  23. Personally, I'd imagine that four years of losing after a championship would negate most of the positive effects. Some of that would never be lost, but there is nothing that would make a bunch of '99-type seasons in a row easy to swallow.
  24. Wasn't that the game where he gave up a grand slam to maybe J.D. Drew? If I remember correctly, the Cubs were down big and came back and won that game. You're thinking of Felix Sanchez on September 3, 2003. One of the most exciting regular season Cubs game I've ever seen. Or rather, would have seen if I didn't chuck my hat at the TV before turning it off. I listened in over the internet as they won 8-7.
