Surprisingly, they get within two late but shut it down in the final two minutes as Ohio State finishes on a 9-2 run. 61-52 the final. Ohio State's 30 FTAs to Northwestern's 3 certainly didn't help. It seemed like Ohio State was in the bonus most of the game.

31-9 run now, I believe. Just a poor performance.

A horrible first half of shooting by Northwestern (especially layups), but Ohio State wasn't much better. Down 21-20 at halftime.

Talk about a slow start by Ohio State. It took them over 8 minutes to hit a FG and I believe they're 0-7 from beyond the arc.

Unless they're changing it this year, they only carry one television broadcast per game. I'd imagine that works out to roughly 50% of the games being Cubs telecasts.

This is the first time in a while that WGN will be carrying both the opener and the home opener, I believe (not including when they open at home, of course).

That 16-0 run was certainly helpful. I believe they led by as many as 32 at one point.

Back pain. He didn't dress. Northwestern falls behind by 13 but they go on a 14-6 run to get back to 3. They're already in the bonus and incredibly enough, they're 7 for 7 from the line.

Down 15-3 and they've tied it up. And Illinois already has 5 fouls in the second half. I think they had 1 in the entire first half.

Speaking of weight, Z supposedly is 15 pounds lighter this spring. I wonder if he went back to the cottage cheese diet.

They'll be showing a 2-1 Cubs victory on Saturday at 3. This was one of the original plans that was tossed around when CSNC was starting up. Hopefully they do it more, but with games that were actually good. The one on Saturday doesn't look very special.

The thing about having it after the season would be that most pitchers would be inactive for at least a month until the World Series is over. I wouldn't want them to start pitching again. I'm not going to critique the WBC until it happens. There are strict rules about when pitchers can be used and how often. We'll just have to wait and see how it actually differs from Cactus and Grapefruit League games.
