  1. Why must I see terrible games in person? Plus it was cooler than was expected. The wind coming from the NE instead of the predicted NW certainly didn't help and the windchill couldn't have hit 60.
  2. Are those just rattles?
  3. They managed to turn a missed shot and a clear foul off the rebound on Shaq into two fouls on Chandler. I didn't know you were allowed to shove a guy from behind two feet while the ball is up in the air and then get the other guy called for a foul.
  4. This officiating is mind-bogglingly bad. Seriously. Just absurd.
  5. I'll be in 121 (could've gotten better in 124 if I had waited) tomorrow. Should be very nice at Wrigley and I can't wait to see Guzman live for the first time. I can wait to see the Cubs offense face Duke, though.
  6. Fox is now batting .345/.406 (probably a little higher)/.598/1.004. Jaxx lost 9-3. Nice to see Moore get a pair of doubles, though.
  7. Marshall still has things to work on which he hasn't really been able to do at the major league level and should return to a minor league rotation when Prior, Wood, and Miller (although that may change) return. That won't be a bad thing. It'll just depend which order he, Guzman, and Hill get sent down. Hopefully they're not tempted to put him in the 'pen. Heck of a job by Sean.
  8. i'm not going to blame that. Rather our pathetic offense with a bases loaded no out situation and failing to score one run out of that. I don't expect a whole lot out of Mabry and Marshall with the bases loaded. Losing a shutout and the lead on a blown call makes me mad.
  9. That blown call better not come back to bite us.
  10. Mark Philmore has signed with the Bears. I am happy.
  11. Walrond will be starting tonight for Iowa.
  12. Well, it at least made me feel better.
  13. http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/currentweatherusnational/usdopplerradar_large_animated.html Looks like we should be okay. The rotation will probably keep it to the south.
  14. For what? I didn't even notice who I was responding to until I saw the personal rip at me. I never look at who the writer is, unless the name is really odd and catches my eye or I'm in the middle of a discussion. I can't remember the last topic you and I have even weighed in on at the same time before this. I didn't put words into your mouth. You can't say somebody put words into your mouth unless they said something like "well, you said.....". I never claimed you said anything other than what you said. And I disagreed with what you said. It's not personal, I just think you're wrong, and not providing a very good defense for your argument. There have already been two general warnings for personal attacks. The third comes in the form of a suspension. And if either of you think that you didn't do anything wrong, then you shouldn't mind this discussion just coming to an end.
  15. Yes, I'm sure that's exactly why Wood is rehabbing in Arizona instead of Chicago. The pitching coach is in Chicago. The trainer is in Chicago. The GM is in Chicago. The Mgr. is in Chicago. The Cubs medical staff is in Chicago. There are towels at Wrigley Field. There are 3 mounds to throw off of at Wrigley Field. There is plenty of open land to throw long toss at Wrigley Field. DLee is injured and is back in the dugout...with the team. Stay away, Wood. I don't think I need to point out that Wood would have been unable to pitch to rookies in Mesa while in Chicago or go into the towel drill (again), but Wood was already with the team in LA and Lee is leaving the team so he can go back home. He'll rejoin the team sometime on the next roadtrip. Don't expect him to be with the team much over the next two months, though. Nobody rehabs with just the major league team.
  16. you really expect him to go from 60 pitches (if it's even 60, I think he's been at about 45 the past three weeks) to 90 pitches in two rehab starts after the way he's been handled up to this point? I think he'll definitely be in that range if all goes well after two rehab starts. He's scheduled to throw 4 innings tomorrow (no reported pitch count) and has been throwing a lot despite the setback a week or so ago. Rehab stints don't usually go beyond two, I don't believe, so if they thought he was going to need four, they'd probably have him just focus on building up arm strength right now by throwing more BP.
  17. Since there still seems to be a lot of misconception of what the towel drill actually is (not sure if it was caused by Carroll or someone else), I posted this a few weeks ago: There's no throwing involved at all. I've never seen Wood do it or seen a report saying that he does it. In fact, I'd be surprised if Prior wasn't the only Cub who does it. And it has received way, way too much attention the past couple of months.
  18. There's no way Wood has four rehab starts unless something goes wrong. After two with no setbacks, he'll be able to throw over 90 pitches with the Cubs.
  19. It was. Great read. Thanks, Randy!
  20. Yes and i can only pray that it dosent happen because it would be the 2nd time i have seats in row one of section 421 and it gets rained out Especially since row 1 isn't covered. Quite a few very good seats available for the entire series, including a pair in row 1 of section 118 for Tuesday's value game.
  21. 70-80% chance of t-showers for this one.
  22. Double choke and a huge gift by the refs.
  23. Maybe he is tired of trying to settle Z down He was about as settled down as I've ever seen him without anyone going out there. That's what happens when you combine his command problems with 2-seamers that don't move and quite a few breaking balls that don't break.
  24. It's double-switching Dusty. Sense of strategy sold seperately.
