  1. Here's to all you people blaming the Cubs suckiness on the absence of Derrek Lee. Lee did all he could to win this game for us, and yet we still lost because of piss poor defense that had nothing to do with Lee.
  2. best games ever. not in the 90s. ever. His game score was 105 for the game. Not sure what the highest is, but I know its up there. The top score you could theoretically get is 114, which Kerry was 7 K's and 1 hit away from getting I wanna say it's the highest 9 inning game score. I also believe it is, which makes it the most dominant game ever pitched.
  3. He had the GIDP to get out of the game unscathed, but Cedeno/Bynum couldn't even get one. I doubt anyone would be throwing regular season games at this point anyways, but there's no proof for that. Why would Cedeno/Bynum/Dempster want to throw games? That makes no sense.
  4. If we lose tomorrow, expect some changes on the team. I don't know how you can get swept by the Pirates and the Cardinals back to back while playing piss poor defense without firing somebody.
  5. Cubs will always play winning baseball since their low water mark....otherwise it wouldn't have been their low water mark.
  6. I can't wait for DLee to be back in the lineup!
  7. The silver lining is that at least we didn't allow Pujols to beat us.
  8. Actually in that situation you have to have them shallow. Anything over their head is going to end the game anyway. Has nothing to do with their arm strength. Sure it does. It doesn't matter now, but if you have a stronger arm, you can play deeper cause you could throw out a runner tagging from third from farther away. With that situation in the 9th, the saying goes "play as far as your arm strength allows". How deep you play is directly proportional to your arm strength.
  9. Look how shallow our outfield is. It's really evidence to how weak the outfielder's arms are.
  10. C'mon Howry! Strike him out. You know the defense can't help you.
  11. And that is why you are not a major league manager. right handed? You gotta look at the splits. Duncan has been a Mendoza line hitter against lefties.
  12. And that is why you are not a major league manager.
  13. Hahahahhahaha. Jon Miller just said that the Cardinals exist solely to be rivals for the Cubs. How does that make you feel, Cardinal fans?
  14. This is one game that could have been won on defense.
  15. I second that notion. Novoa gives me a painful feeling in my stomach. And just as you say that, he induces Belliard into a DP.
  16. Anybody find it odd that Dye is having a season that absolutely pales every single other season he's had? His numbers are so much better this season that it's ridiculous. I'm thinking 1996 Brady Anderson ridiculous. I'm not saying he's juicing, but you have to wonder.....
  17. If Mabry gets traded, we need to call up another infielder, or else we'd be playing with 23 men. Lee would likely be activated in that situation. I'm referring to freeing up the 40 man spot. Hmm...good point. I'm not too happy with losing a left-handed bat, but that does sound like the best situation for the Cubs.
  18. If Mabry gets traded, we need to call up another infielder, or else we'd be playing with 23 men.
  19. Speaking of Walrond, I see that he's not on the 40 man roster. Who got DFA or placed on the 60-day DL in order to make room for him?
  20. Prior Wood Zambrano Maddux Marshall Ryu Marmol O'Malley Mateo Rusch Williams Guzman Hill and now Walrond
  21. I think that's the whole reason for bringing him back. Obviously he won't help win this year, but he can gain confidence that he's fully healed and back to his usual effectiveness heading into next year. Derrek Lee is (after Pujols) the second best position player in the NL. He's not some rookie that needs to gain confidence at the big league level. He knows what he is capable of.
