  1. It's amazing how much that one running play has turned this game around. Also, the pass protection is sadddddddddddd.
  2. Yes! Try to run it on us, please! Don't exploit our secondary! :D
  3. Seriously? By my count, the Giants are going to be missing 5 defensive starters (Osi, Strahan, Arrington, Madison, Short). Also backups Tuck and Emmons are questionable. I don't understand how they could be so confident with so many injuries. They don't have good depth. ... Actually, the Giants have pretty darn good depth ... good enough to hold two teams to 10 or less points with alot of starters out the last two weeks ... Have you watched the Giants at all? The Giants do have good depth. Of course, that all goes out the window when your "depth" is forced into the first string. I agree, but to state the Giants don't have good depth is plain wrong. I was refering specifically to this game where they have some backups who are also banged up. They started a DE off the practice squad last week. Normally they have great DE depth, but not for this game. With so many defensive players hurt, if someone gets hurt in this game they could be in big trouble. Sorry for the confusion. The Giants are the team I follow the most other than the Bears. Edit: Let's be honest about the last two games, as well. One game was played in a hurricane against the 2nd worst offensive team in football and the other was played against the Texans, the 6th worst offensive team in football. It's still impressive to hold NFL teams to 10 or less points with most of your starters out two straight weeks.
  4. That's crazy! I understand Cashman is trying to get the best possible deal for Sheffield, but to turn down both The Phillies deal that included Gavin Floyd and a Padres deal that included Scott Linebrink, is beyond insane. Everybody knows that Yankees are trying to trade Sheffield, and everybody knows Sheffield no longer wants to be a Yanks. So to turn down either deal, is beyond idiotic, and I hope they can't trade Sheffield, cause you know Sheffield will tear ANY chemistry that team might have to pieces. What is so crazy about turning down a Gavin Floyd deal? Have you seen his numbers the last two years? He is not the prospect he once was. I know the Yankees turned down this deal with Linebrink, but today Peter Gammons was on Mike and Mike and said that he believes Sheff will end up with the Cubs. The deal would be centered around Wuertz. ew :?

  7. jeez, being a little pessimistic aren't we? I'm not even that down on the Eagles (yet) When you have probably the most complete team in the NFC, and then suddenly the team gets destroyed with random injuries, it tends to get annoying. every team suffers injuries. Some years you're just completely snake bit, but the Giants still have the most important pieces to their offense (Manning and Barber) and Burress' injury is nothing major. They're 6-2 and play in a bad division, so even with the injuries they've suffered, they can still get pretty healthy for the playoffs. When you lose your 4 best offensive players, 3-4 defensive starters and your kicker and punter, that's destroyed by injuries. What the Giants are going through is just a little bit worse luck than the average NFL team. I agree, I'm probably being dramatic. It's just a pain when your having a good season, and then some key players go down.

  9. Arrington, Toomer out for year (they do have depth at both positions though). Osi, Madison, Short, Strahan, Tuck probably out for Sunday (AKA the entire defense). Yeah, Bears should win by 20+. He leads the team in catches ... :?: Carter sucks pretty hard. I'm hoping between Tyree, Jennings, and Moss, a #2 emerges. #1 and 2 wideouts out, 1 offensive linemen, both starting defensive ends, backup defensive end(tuck), starting corner, two of three starting linebackers (the real strength of the team), and Wilson (starting safety) and Shockey have missed time. Pretty bad.
  10. Bears are now a lock. The Giants are getting absolutely ravished with injuries, like I have never seen before.
  11. Grossman is awful? Right. I meant as of late.
  12. Manning is not great, I will admit. Grossman is pretty awful though.
  13. The Strahan injury will hurt the Giants run D, but to whoever said the Bears should run the ball, the Giants are amazing against the run. To beat this team, even with injurys, you must exploit the questionable secondary. And Manning > Grossman.
  14. *Giants fan* Strahan is out for the game this Sunday, and Osi might sit as well. Injuries will KILL the Giants defense, assuming Madison, Osi, and Short all miss the game as well as Strahan. The bears will win for sure if this is the case.
  15. Burrell would come cheaper than Jones. My Philly friends tell me they want to dump him ASAP. Jones can be swung in a seperate deal for somthing of actual value.
  16. No. It's not how he was pitching in the playoffs. It's how he pitched in the regular season. Weaver sucked in the regular season. Verlander didn't. Going into the postseason nobody in their right mind would have picked Weaver over Verlander. It's insane. It's how he pitched in the playoffs that matters. That's my opinion. Ok guys, here's what i would do. I'd get some good regular season pitchers, and i'd win a lot of games and make the playoffs. And then, once the playoffs started, i would trade for all of the pitchers that did really good at the end of the year and put them on my playoff roster. later in the playoffs, I'd trade for all of the pitchers that did good in the early rounds of the playoffs. What do you guys think? Dont quote me when you don't know what you're talking about. Pitching, defense, and clutch hitting will win you a world series. I am done arguing something that I know is true. Jeff Weaver isn't a good pitcher.
  17. didn't he prove he can pitch as well as he did at the end of 2006 at the end of 2006? =D> I'm not saying to count on Hill on a 2 yet, but counting him as a 5 seems foolish.
  18. Who else doubts Alou and Jones would be willing to be in a platoon situation?
  19. Arrington out for the year ... :x
  20. Pretty funny how everybody picks the Cowboys over the Giants .
  21. The Good : Don't have to deal with annoying Mets fans in my school toamrrow. (Live in NY) The Bad : The Cards will probably win the World Series ...
  22. I think there were a lot of anxious batters in this game. Anxious or not, still was a great outing. sure. I wouldn't sign either of these pitchers due to this game though. People on Cards Talk want extensions for Weaver and Suppan based on this series ... :D
