    What are you basing this on? Lee got a fantatsic deal. Ramirez is well paid. The offer to Furcal was market value (nobody expected the Dodgers to crazy with their offer). If he says these guys are in his sights, and news reports show Soriano as his number one target, why disbelieve it? Just out of natural Cubs angst? Others have posted what I was going for. If the Cubs overpayed for Beltran they would have not traded for Pierre and the list goes on. IMO, when you have a talent like that you do what you have to do to get him. What stinks is that this year their are not any impact hitters out there in the free agent field. Soriano, Lee.

    What game are you watching? The one where the score is 6 to 3? Score is not always indicitive of what is actually going on. Missed tackles are aplenty. True, but the score is still 6 to 3. Missed tackles don't count against the score. True, they do not.... but your words were "D looks excellent"... they are a far cry from "excellent". I would say thats a little dramatic. A "far cry"? The fact remains that, despite horrible calls, they held the Vikings to 6 points.

    give me a break. just admit that, as of right now, you were dead wrong about him. Oh, come on. Did you ever admit when he was sporting a 9+ ERA that you were dead wrong about him at that time? He's had a few good games, and some absolutely miserable ones. When he starts putting up numbers like he did today with some sort of consistency, then we'll talk. Since Hill's second callup: JUL 27 - 3.1 IP 4 ER AUG 01 - 8 IP 3 ER AUG 06 - 7 IP 1 ER AUG 11 - 4.2 IP 6ER AUG 15 - 2 IP 0ER (Relief outing) AUG 21 - 6 IP 2 ER AUG 26 - 7 IP 1 ER SEPT 1 - 8 IP 1 ER 6 out of his last 8 games, Hill has been very good.
