  1. In other news, Arod just hit a walk off homer for the Yankees in the 12th.
  2. If it is any consolation, there are no runners on base now!
  3. Because it was a little looping one hopper to second base that could have been caught on the fly. Tough to tell if it would be caught or not(granted it ended up bouncing). Jones did the right thing. He's on second with no outs and the game is tied. There's one out (now two) with Blanco coming up. Now, but when the play happened there were no outs. Rrriiiiiiigght. Which is why they were trying to sacrifice him over to third. I have no idea where this is going. When the play occurred there was no outs in the inning. They wanted to bunt him to third, but that failed. Cedeno ended up having to swing away and hit it to second base. It was a hit that was hard to tell if it would be caught on the fly or not. With no outs in that situation...it is best to play it safe and get back to second base since it was hard to tell if the ball would be caught on a fly. Now, the Cubs inability to drive in a run with a runner on second with no outs is a different story.

  6. Who from the White Sox will Ozzie bring to the All Star game? He may be forced to avoid taking his own players that could be considered deserving due to roster amount. He has to make sure he gets a player from every team which will use up a lot of his own selections since it appears the voting will result in Yankees, Red Sox and Vlad. Guys that could be considered deserving: Contreras Jenks Thome Crede Konerko Pierzynski Dye Iguchi Buerhle
  7. Now why? I typed that when Ramirez was thrown out at second and then was followed up by a hit. I hate them because very little if anything goes right.
  8. It was hit so hard that it bounced off the wall fast to a very prepared Carlos Lee who sent it back to second base. Combination of a solid hit and good defending sunk that double. And a perfect throw by Lee.
  9. Their closer is getting some work in a non-save situation??? They have an off day tomorrow so they want to make sure he gets work. He hasn't pitched since his miserable outing against the Cubs on Sunday night. Edit to say Sox.....whoops!!
  10. I credit that homer by Pierre to the wind. I'm not sure what is more amazing the fact that Pierre homered or that he picked up an RBI.
  11. Why do the affliations constantly change? For example, why would the Marlins choose to leave single A affliate Kane County? Or were they asked to leave in favor of the current affliate Oakland A's Why would the Cubs bolt from Peoria for Lansing and then head back to Peoria? And where did the Cubs Rockford affliate move to?
  12. Better still: Bring Joshua to him. Fire Clines and promote Joshua to major league hitting coach. Lets just swap coaching staffs with Iowa. Joshua is a better hitting coach, Dunn is a better pitching coach, Quade's a better manager....heck whomever their bench coach is probably does a better job than Pole does; lets just clean the house that Dusty built and start over. What does a bench coach do? (on a real team, not the cubs...) One thing I would assume is that the bench coach serves as manager if the manager is kicked out or misses a game due to suspension or personal reasons. But, that is not necesarily the case because third base coach Joey Cora takes the helm for the Sox. But, then again it seems they might have a problem with their bench coach, Tim Raines considering they did not offer him a contract extention yet and others received theirs.
  13. Do you really think someone as involved as Cuban would own three teams? Did Jerry Colangelo own three? I know the Suns and the DBacks. But, did he also own the Phoenix Coyotes?
  14. Sounds very robotic. Must be a Tribume employee.
  15. If Barrett went on the DL, should we have just sat still with no catcher to replace him? He'll end up missing a total of 13 games with a 1B/DH as our backup catcher (who also happens to be playing every day). Nevin and Mabry are not catchers, Blanco barely is. Put the emergency catcher label on Aramis. Put the emergency CF label on Maddux. None of the above make sense. Putting someone who cannot fill the position in the position is stupid. Plain and simple. It is yet another example of horrible roster management, and regardless of how the team is performing, it should not be ignored. Not to mention that we have 12 pitchers and the bench is short. Funny how you call Blanco barely a catcher and then use the word stupid to describe putting Mabry and Nevin at catcher in an EMERGENCY. Nevin was drafted as a catcher. Mabry was used by the Cards in that role and makes sure to take some time in spring training to work on it. Did I mention Barrett was a third baseman. Also again Blanco barely a catcher? As much as NSSB mob will like you belive that Blanco sucks he's regarded as fine battery mate and has a cannon arm by many around baseball. Where did that come from? I think most people here know that he is an excellent defensive catcher. His offense is a different story even though he has had a hot streak at the plate recently.
  16. you really don't want to read it. It's gonna make you want to take a bat to Hendry and Baker's head. I want Hendry as my boss! I wouldn't even show up and feel my job was secure.
