  1. how is this not stickied yet?
  2. Do the stats back that? I know there is a pretty small sample size. I hear people say that he is a great fielder all the time, but is that just because he is fast and hustles? Or is he really a good fielder? There are no fielding stats (not even the newer ones) that are accurate...for outfielders... You cant judge him much fastre he is than Sori..How many more balls he'd get to. Sometimes just getting to the ball stops the runner. You can only use the 'eye-test on that.. He has speed that takes away hits..obviously and his arm is average. But you are right, in my mind. his sample size is VERY small. He's been used as a bit player until now and he hasnt played as much as we think he has... Dale has been patient with him the last week..as Dale has been with Ian Stewart..who has much more of a track record .. For the record..I'd play him against right handers and use him as the 'bench weapon' when lefties start. If Sori is moved this year..LaHair will go to left and Tony would be the late inning 'caddy' did you transcribe these thoughts from a ticker tape machine in your abdomen?
  3. so if we could get another celtics W and two more wins for the spurs, we could have the most boring finals ever!
  4. like, i just can't revel in this enough. as much as i have this cerebral appreciation for the heat. as much as i really, truly appreciate the amazing talent and player that lebron james is. in my bones, in my soul, seeing them lose has a level of satisfaction that cannot be explained. that it's the celtics is irrelevant. it could be the bill lambeer pistons for all i care. just lose, heat.
  5. hey did anyone pick the kings to win it all before the playoffs started?
  6. if only we had known about lahair...
  7. i did the whole neyer-james-bp progression, though i didn't really start to pick up on it until late 03 and into 04. i probably would have been way lazy about it though if it weren't for the relentless condescension of meph to motivate me to not be such an lol moron
  8. wtf is wrong with you dudes? clearly mark grudzielanek is the hottest cub of the young millenium
  9. i guess my assumption would be that a player with high-ba/low isod would be less likely to slg at a top level. he'll swat at anything close rather than wait for the right one, and that doesn't seem like it would bode well for consistent, high-level power output. just guessing though
  10. whoever smelt it dealt it
  11. lookin a lil silly at the plate, but i think he gets made even if he's batting in the 7th spot or whatever. slumpy play or slow starts happen regardless of one's "position" in the lineup. he'll snap out of it and remind everyone he's starlin castro, awesome at hitting baseballs.
  12. THESE SENTENCES WERE WRITTEN CONSECUTIVELY i think he's writing his posts like the lyrics on kid a where he just wrote dozens of individual sentences and is now throwing them out at random regardless of what comes before or after Tha Carter VI
  13. i like the part about how bad he sucks, but if he can suck that bad at multiple positions, well, maybe he might have value
  14. whoopsies! sosa should be up there. after that, the options get pretty debatable
  15. order of priority for jersey number retirement: sandberg>sosa>grace>wood>ramirez>lee
  16. watching that last stroll from the mound to the dugout was pretty emotional. what a great competitor, and quite possibly my favorite cub of all time. the perfect final note for a great career.
  17. while i agree that bowman hasn't done much in regards to impact acquisitions, it's a little difficult to assess the true impact of his moves when, for example, one of those happens to be someone you felt slotted in real good as the checking line center and is starting the season at forward. i think it's kind of startling how little Q is held accountable by blackhawks fans.
  18. I figured 10-15. It's just over what I expected. Back in the day Hunter got 21 I think. gotcha. hard to put a price tag on something like this, i certainly wasn't expecting this much, but i could easily see it being more. it sucks that by freak chance he could only end up serving one game next year. he needs to sit for at least 20 games in the regular season for this to be at all an effective punishment. time to win three straight boys
  19. hahahahahahaha
  20. well there you have it
  21. does he have type 2 diabetes too?
